Evening folks. Annual trip to Chester tomorrow so just thought I'd leave a fun competition for you to enter yourselves to entertain you on a Sunday. On a personal level, I've managed just 3 winners in 3 years, and find it a difficult track for betting on. I won't post any of my selections as I'll make my mind up in the morning. But the aim of the game is simple- can we find a ROODEE KING or (QUEEN) who can come out from 7 races tomorrow with any good profit? Anyone who has 5 winners or more from the 7 races will receive a telegraph from the Queen. Just post your 7 selections and we'll run 2 competitions alongside: One based on profit per £1 staked and another in the 606 traditional format: 1ST 30 pts 2nd 20 Pts 3rd 10 Pts and we'll totter those up. 2.00 THE SIXTIES has shown glimpses of smart form to win off a mark of 78 in this nursery.Drawn 4 isn't too bad and is interesting. The Blue Clumber has often gone from the front and drawn in stall one has a great opportunity to run a personal best in the opener and 12/1 represents an interesting e/w investment. 2.30 SIGNATURE DISH Shaped nicely on debut and the step up in trip will help. The worry here is always the draw and it could have been kinder. That said, if it can hold a mid division position, he must have a chance of making the frame. Fran Norton is more than useful at Chester and I cannot see Zain Spirit out of the frame having travelled supremely the last twice. If breaking well, it might take some pegging back. 3.05 NIGHT CARNATION 9/2 has been consistent at Group 1, 2 and 3 level and drawn 4 here must have a big chance against a field not quite in the same depth. 3.40 LADY MACDUFF is very interesting drawn low with Fran Nortin and might get to dictate this race. After that you are looking for dangerous horses like Castles In The Air and Caldercruix who also likes to be front-rank. 4.10 LUCK seems to sort of horse who will be suited to Chester and Makin will look to dictate from a prominent sit. Well in control on debut and I think the style of running may play into his hands. 4.45 INTHAR will relish the step up in trip having won on reappearance and keeping on nicely behind the excellent STATURE last time. De Sousa representing Godolphin here looks significant. 5.15 BADEA- The Good Doctor can round things off with a winner in his silver colours at his favourite track with Badea drawn so well.
Hopefully no-one can pick a winner because I am working there tomorrow for a bookie and get a percentage of what he wins so the more outsiders the better.
Chatted to PM at tea time and Hitchens may not be suited to the course and will strip fitter for the outing.He's been held back all summer because of the ground but they plan to have a few bob on but not as much as with Waffle today where they landed some nice e/w dosh. Worth Opposing tomorrow if that narrows it down any.
