The Bridge; Golden Gate Suicide Jumpers

Anybody seen this? Supposedly a good watch about the suicide jumpers from the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. Says that when it got to 500 deaths people were jumping off with "500" on a t-shirt. When it got to 1000, people were jumping off holding signs reading 1000. Nutters.

More people kill themselves here than at any other place on earth, apparently.

Scary shizz, but why didnt he producers consider The Erskine Bridge?

 

I think that's the sequel.

 

I've read that more people kill themselves jumping from here than from any other structure in the world. You hit the water at something like 85mph. It's said to be like hitting concrete. Not many survive the jump.

Yes, once they jump there isn't any turning back

 

They interview 1 guy that did survive the fall. He claims that as soon as he jumped over the side he decided he wanted to live and so maneuvered himself in mid air to land feet first. Then he was saved by a circling seal which he said was an act of god. Not a botched suicide, he decided he wanted to live. Believable.

 

They should`ve built a tunnel instead.

 

Unless it's a bungee jump.

 

why is it painted grey sometimes?

 

I was told that jumpers from the Erskine Bridge sometimes land in peoples gardens on the Clyde side of the bridge
