Brexit is still a live issue although not discussed a lot right now on here it does burst into life now and then.

So this thread acts as a safety valve stopping the subject popping up elsewhere.

I know LLs post is off topic (and bollox) but if contained to a political thread the odd off topic does not bother me. I could object to it, I don’t because I find it mildly interesting to know the amazing ideas that float around, and LL is adept at finding it.

But that’s just my view, I’d like the thread to remain for Brexit, if the mods want to stop off topic like this that’s fine too

 

I would hazard a guess, everyone on this board have looked in at this thread, obviously some have posted and continue to do so, some have thought , no, this isn't for me, and never look at it again, it started off as the Brexit thread, then went off in a political tangent where the regular posters from both sides had their say on every political issue raised, it seems to me now though, that the typical tactic of the extreme loony lefties is, if they don't like something and people don't agree with their bollox and they can't win their stupid arguments, the best thing is to shut it down, and don't talk about it.
Well, I have an idea, just change the thread title to 'The Political Thread' and then, if you can't handle someone else' opinion. because they're not brainwashed loony lefties, just walk on by and don't look in again, and leave it to the grown ups, you ****ing snowflake twats.

Well, unlike most people ( I suspect) I watched LLs videos.

I listened carefully and what struck me was there was no evidence, not real evidence, offered for anything asserted. In fact some of it is caveated with comments like ‘ I don’t know if this is true, it’s unverified’.

So what it amounts to is a collection of allegations woven together into an alternative narrative, combining some things we know are probably true (like Jimmy Saville and his activities and the failure to investigate him when alive) with stuff we have no reason to believe are true, then pull them together into a huge conspiracy theory for which no proof is offered. You have to believe all the individual bits, then believe they add up to the big conspiracy.

I guess it’s an act of faith, if you want to believe this stuff you can, as much of it is not easily disprovable. It’s a fact of scientific method that it is very, very hard indeed to prove a negative. But why you would believe it, objectively, is beyond me,

Final point, anyone who thinks Putin is a good guy immediately makes me distrust them. You can judge Putin on his known actions - he is not a good guy.
