    Good Morning Everyone

Garry Monk has admitted he never planned on staying at Elland Road in the long term...

“There has been a lot of negativity [toward me] and I was disappointed to leave Leeds,” said Monk. “I felt we had a fantastic season when you consider what it was when I took over and what it was when we left.

There was an expectancy we’d still be there. It was frustrating, and I don’t want to go too much into it, but for me there was never a real intention for me to have a long-term job there.”

“My intention was to stay, but I had a one-year contract, there were new owners. After the job I’d done and after discussions, there was never a real desire to keep me and I didn’t want to put myself or my staff in that position.

That’s why I took the Middlesbrough job. I’ve loved every minute of it and we are improving, you have to rebuild the confidence of a club after relegation, the players, the staff and the fans and we’re getting there,” he added.

Leicester City's caretaker boss Michael Appleton has suggested that he is going to rest some players for tonight's game against Leeds.

“We’ll look at it in terms of players coming in and players being rested for the weekend,”

“I’m mindful of the fact that over the two (cup) games, we’ve made certain changes, but we made sure we won those games. It’ll be no different on Tuesday.”

“It’s a big game. They’ve had a fantastic win away from home (against Bristol City) so they’re going to be buoyant.

“It’s an opportunity for both sides to progress into the last eight which is a big thing for the football club. “Leeds are the type of club where you come into cup competitions and it almost feels like they’re a Premier League side anyway because of the following that they’ll probably bring on Tuesday. It’s going to be exciting.”

There is an article on HITC suggesting that Phillips take over the number 10 role currently used by Hernandez. Phillips was used in this role on Saturday, and have enthused about his performance.

Good Morning Matt and his little helpers from a dark miserable wet Bardsey
I am not looking forward as I have to go for another endoscopy on my oesphogus still I am getting there
Monk is already preparing for life in Holy Island the Boro Fans are baying for his blood having spent the best part of £50m in the close seasonthey stand 13 points behind the leaders after 13 games Clearly this is not good enough so to say he is loving every minute of it and the fans and the club are getting there no wonder he lost the plot at Leeds for he is clearly delusionable at best

Morning all, team selection will be a boring as you were, or a gobsmacking stripped down new outfit.

With having Berradi & Dallas missing plus maybe resting Viera due to his ongoing tendinitis issue, there has to be changes to the back 4 & as we have a tough but important game on Friday I suspect the midfield needs adjusting too.

I think CBJ comes in at left back, which means Anita can go into the DM role with Klich. Viera rested and I expect either Phillips but probably O'Kane rested too. Pablo back in and maybe Roofe and Sacko, but obviously it maybe the worst guess ever.

I know a Midds fan who I see regular and at the end of last season he said I wish we had a manager like Monk. He said Monk will obviously get you guys promoted next season along with us. A week or two later he was taking the piss as they had Monk and he said we would be back with Steve Evans hahahaha.

He aint laughing now and I find the latest comments from Monk insulting. The fans took him and his team to heart and went out of their way to make them welcome. Nobody knows what went on? fook off we know Radz was wanting him but it would be in a new system He thought he was too good for the Championship obviously but when he couldnt get a job he took an obvious choice of fav to go back up/ For me Pep Clotet was the man and we know they had a bust up... Fook off Monk

Morning all. Gary Monk is the past and no longer concerns our club, but judging from our league position and our relative expenditure we seem to have benefited from his switch rather than Boro..

Agree 100% Friday's game I can't say it's a must win because every time I say that we lose, so not putting the jinks on anything.
