    Good Morning Everyone,

If Leeds continue their good form, will they need to strengthen their squad in January?

The obvious answer is yes, and many of you including myself would choose to bring another striker in!

If that is the case, would we be looking for a striking partner for Chris Wood or someone to replace him?

I am not Wood's biggest fan but I think it would be harsh to replace him.

If we look for a new strike partner, it means Monk changing his formation, and we know what happened last time we did that.

    Thoughts?

Garry Monk will serve a one game ban for using abuse language towards an official in Leeds 1-0 loss at Bristol City.

Monk will watch from the stands whilst Beatie and Clotet take charge of Saturdays game v Derby?

Has anyone here got a funny story about being sent off?

    Morning all..

January a tricky one, guess it all depends on where we are and how we are performing. If we go back to (the dreaded) 4-4-2 surely we have the striker already here in Roofe or Antonnson?

How much would it cost to replace Wood assuming anyone would be mad enough to sell a top striker.

Come January and "as things stand" good business would be secure Janson and Bartley on contracts and sort out Taylor. Either he sees we are pushing on and wants to be part of it or we bring in a quality replacement.

Then if we could offload or sell the likes of Murphy and Doukara bring in a bit more quality.

Sacko I believe would be too costly, someone with a £20m release clause isn't going to be cheap so maybe another position we should be looking to cover?

"He should be destroying teams at this level." Former England striker Beattie talks about Chris Wood's potential:

Putting my top managers head on:
    1. Eye on the market for a top top striker who we can get on a 6 month loan deal. Someone who will rip this league apart but is nearing the end of his prem career. CROUCH. expensive wages but if we are in the top 6 at Xmas Crouch would guarantee play offs at worst.
    2. Antonnson and Roofe need to spend time with Beattie and he needs to get them fit to smash this league, because if one of them can manage it, it will save the club a fortune on Crouch.
    3. A lot of clubs have seen something in Wood, which for some reason he fails to deliver consistently. I remember him starting for Leicester a few years ago and smashed it for 6 games scoring around 10 goals, and then vanished. Nugent the worlds slowest player arrived and took over and think Wood went backwards. he has a slight problem and its only sleight because he gets on the end of things and hits the woodwork or straight at the keeper. I got some great advice years ago about the same thing:
    • Stop trying to be precise and exact. do it split second sooner and you will find you are not as accurate and the ball will start missing the woodwork and keeper more and going in. It worked for me and remember getting the club top scorer trophy, the league golden boot and the leagues player of the season award.

hello all ... another striker is needed because Roofe and Antonsson are still learning about the Championship ... Crouch would be a good choice, but can't see him dropping down a division unless we are genuine challengers and there's a contract guarantee in place should we get promotion

Doc, not sure if top scorer at Subbutteo actually counts

That useless cnut Southgate has blamed the mess he inherited, wtf. He is part of the FA set up and has an office and been in post for years. What is the twat talking about. He picked the squad selected the starting 11 picked the tactics and got it wrong. He got it wrong what a nobjockey

I don't think Crouch will be anywhere near as good even in this division as some are making out. I would want to see reinforcements to the squad in January regardless of our position in the league but its much harder to find targets than look for old washed up players who were overhyped in their prime anyway.

Talking of England, I don't see Southgate can get the job. I thought he was a bad choice when he was being touted before and it looks an even worse decision now. I'd like to see someone with some sort of experience in the Premier League, failing that at least someone with some sort of experience in one of the top 5 leagues in Europe.

Chesh overhyped player. Ceouch in many peoples eyes should have gone to the Euros with England. He has the best strike rate for England and thats over any former player. He had Liverpools best strike rate too. He has a great strike rate even now for Stoke as Hughes persists in leaving him on the bench. He may look like Bambi on ice but who cares with his goals to game ratios. Hughes playes a different brand of football at Stoke so he has no chance there and he is getting past being a prem striker, but for our level he will smash it

Wenger - pull out the stops give him whatever fee he wants, even if we have to wait until the end of the season to get him

The second a player like Crouch comes into any team the football style has to change. Apart from it being an old school style of football which defenders have learned how to deal with quite easily, it would also change our style of play which is starting to become effective. His wages would be too large, he is now 35 and hasn't been playing that much over the last 2 or 3 seasons. To me there is nothing to suggest he would be effective at this level anymore.

As for having the best strike rate for England and Liverpool... He just doesn't, have no idea where you got that from.

Do you think 4-4-2, 4-2-3-1 or a single holding midfielder suits our current playing staff best?
