Good Morning Everyone, Neil Warnocks first decision at Cardiff Manager???? Sign Sol Bamba Thoughts? Steve Evans has issued a warning to Gary Monk that he could be out of a job just after Christmas... The now Talksport presenter said the following:- “I don’t know what’s in Cellino’s head. I don’t think many do,” “But the remit was to deliver promotion at the start of the season. “The pressure on Garry to make the play-offs in January or February will become huge if it looks at any stage of the season that they are not going to do it. "That’s the fear factor to do it.” Thoughts? Is domestic football bigger than our national team? Has this always been the case or has the tide turned in the last 20 years? Are you more or less passionate about international football these days?
Good morning all.. The signing of Bamba before even taking a look at what you have is a strange one, a signing for the sake of signing somone? Antenucci scored the other night ending a six game goal drought. I see Redfearn is having a few moans about certain players he was lumbered with, latest being Cani I lost interest in the International games long ago.
Warnock and Bamba, good luck with that back in the day when I was growing up and through the 70's and 80's, the players were proud to get picked for their country. Yes some maybe still are, but they earn so much money that it makes no difference to them any more. There are a few exceptions like Beckham and Gerrard and maybe Terry, but there is nothing for the players these days except moaning in the press so fook it. Clubs also want nothing to do with England because they hate the risk of injury to their valuable asset. Premier League over rules the FA and will not help the FA get a cohesive structure and plan because it doesnt suit them and the clubs. The FA used to be in charge and dictate to the clubs but no more. Premier League is a business franchise that generates Billions in revenue and they will show their arses for an extra few quid and fook anyone who wants to meddle with their business model. The FA should do a brexit and take back control Evans is earning a few quid, Redders is earning a few quid and all a bit of a non event really, because everyone knows that football is a results game and an average of 2 managers per week lose their jobs. I am hoping that Cellino has seen the light and realises that Monk is only as good as the support he gets from the Board. Given time Monk will make this club good again and given enough cash would make it great again. Cellino must know hes a laughing stock in the media and maybe has changed, he may also be selling the club, so fingers crossed. Gates rising as the team wins which means more revenue.
Morning ristac, Warnock probably thought experienced, out of contract, whats the worst thing that can happen? Redders is a whinging joke...
Talking of which... Cellino could take a massive step in the right direction by buying the ground back now, no more excuses of how GFH are the stumbling block.
Morning all ... another quality Breakfast thread, thanks Ell ... great signing by Warnock, hopefully he makes Bamba captain ... expect Paddy Kenny to be next in at Cardiff ... I really hope he gets them relegated, then they can go and pat their heads in Lge One the idiots Steve Evans is a buffoon, and when you look at the way Monk goes about his work and the improvements on the pitch after a difficult start, you realise just how bad Evans was at Leeds ... Sombrero is constantly saying the Leeds manager is going to get sacked soon, not because it's true, but because it's what he's wishing for ... he won't accept that he was rubbish, and he wants Monk sacked soon to justify him not getting a new contract ... Evans should have done better, but he was very negative in his approach and kept talking about survival, and he never went for it to get wins ... he is well past his sell-by date in football management, and TalkTripe is actually ideal for him ... he's in good company with that big mouth Durham who thought Posh would get to the Prem ahead of Leeds as for Redders, another bitter and twisted fool who simply won't accept his shortcomings ... thank fcuk he's out of our club, and working for Bates is again hs perfect role ... his natural negativity has room to shine through ... Evans and Redders, if they were school teachers they'd be in trouble, because they have no class the International game has become boring due to the amount of players moving around the globe ... there is no mystery anymore, no intrigue ... we now know most of the players, and what to expect ... also, the foreign players in England are used to playing against English players, and they don't fear England anymore ... it lifts the foreign players when they see players in the England squad who can't get in their club first team and who they have been running rings around in training ... Sky and the PL have slowly been squeezing the life out of the England national team, and the results show that England are going backwards at an alarming rate people wonder why England can't perform at tournaments, and the answer is simple, you need a squad of 23 who can contribute ... try this exercise: pick your England starting eleven in whatever formation you choose now discard that starting eleven and pick a team to replace them you will find you can't even get past the goalkeeper, and this highlights where England are in the International game ... the reason teams like Germany, Argentina, Holland and Italy are always in the mix at tournaments is because they can rely on their bench and often replace quality with quality when needed ... England will continue to struggle while Prem clubs can start a game with just one Englishman in the starting lineup ... English football needs a hard reset, but while stupid money floods in and greed rules, nobody will actually care about the English national team the Prem has becoming a breeding ground for a losing mentality ... now you find twelve clubs all content to try and finish 17th, and three clubs potentially believing they may have a shot at winning the League ... it is shameful to think that clubs like Arsenal and Liverpool set their goal at finishing 4th, and seeing Champs Lge qualification as success ... it's all about the money now, and England is suffering, and this has had a knock on effect on Scottish football as well, with less Scottish youngsters getting a chance in England as more and more third rate continentals are brought in btw ... nice post Doc, spot on Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I was going to mention Scottish football but forgot. We have always had a strong contingent of quality Jocks in our leagues, but as English kids dont play much top football the jocks have reduced in numbers too. So the PL have damaged Scotland too and why they dont make big tournaments.
Billy, in all fairness Evans was told survival was the target, don't get relegated. He inherited a poor squad, he managed to get the best out of what he had to work with and some of his tactical substitutions were fantastic. I didn't like or want Evans but he won me over, his worse enemy was his mouth. He wanted to be at Leeds, he loved it here and he deserves some respect for that. In contrast Monk has been backed totally in everything he has wanted, 11 new players was it and how many millions? How many back room appointments?? I was open minded to Monk, then I turned against him but... He is learning, the first few games and his mouth was also his enemy, his team selection and tactics were woeful, players out of position, choice of captain.... I believe now that Monk is work in progress, he maybe sees us a major stepping stone, get it right under Cellino and get a job anywhere. As we have to be patient with some of the players like Wood and Roofe I'm now starting to believe we need (or I do) to remain patient over Monk. I still don't believe Monk is a great coach, I think he is learning from those around him like Clotet. I think Monk will continue to improve if given time. I also believe if the same backing had been given to Evans at the start of this campaign we would have been higher. Monk not understanding quickly enough where we were weak and a stupid preseason preperation got us off to an awful start but hopefully it's onwards and upwards. I agree with your other points though and I also agree it is probably pride now with Evans in wanting Monk to fail.

Now I think about it. Wasn't one of the conditions GFH put on the club with the floating charge that their 17 million had to be repaid before the club can buy back ER?
Feckin typical, the mods can post any amount of pussy on the site but us mere mortals cant even put up a picture of a bikini without a lecture. Enough to drive a man to youporn
First breakfast thread in months to die on its arse. You see what happens if nobody provide conversation pieces.
