Good Morning Everyone, Could we be about to lose Kyle Bartley? Our influential skipper may be on the radar of new Swansea Manager Bob Bradley! The Ex US manager took over the reigns at the Liberty Stadium yesterday after Francesco Guidolin was relieved of his duties. The first thing a new manager will look to do is to tighten up his defence. Garry Monk is expected to plead guilty to his FA charge, and looks set to receive a one game touchline ban for the Derby game. Garry Monk is making an attempt to offer a far improved contract package to Charlie Taylor. Now that things are on the up, perhaps he'll take notice?
Cant see Kyle going back and not sure there is a recall clause in his contract. He is playing well and needs to carry on playing well so in his best interests to see it out. I would be more worried about losing Monk when Bradley proves to be a loser. If Taylor does the business and sees the team going for promotion, why wouldnt he want to stay. We lost our better kids because a) no investment and lack of ambition and b) an owner wanting to cash in. Cellino already said he wasnt selling Taylor and yes he can walk in the summer but whoever signs him will need to pay Leeds a fee which is sorted out by the arbitration panel. Think we can see that Cellino is starting to invest and also why has he cleared debts and got rid of GFH? Monk is looking at a striker for January, and could be a name who isnt getting game time in the prem
Its usually an emergency recall through injury back at own club. No sign of injury just players under performing lack of management. Ask his mum Maria, she seems nice
Also Doc, Taylor could leave for nothing in January apparently if he goes abroad! A recognised striker would not do our chances any harm.
Good morning all. I don't think Taylor will stay, Cellino upset him and his agent by name calling a while back, I think we will cash in come January when we hopefully have a fully fit Berardi and Denton has had a bit more game time. I don't believe Bartley will leave before his loan spell is up, surely there must be a clause to say he stays with us all season? Imagine clubs relying on 3-4 loan players, they all get called back and you struggle to make a team now emergency loan has been scrapped. If you didn't have to keep a player for the length of the loan then surely we would have sent Grimes back?
If memory serves Doc, GFH were having cash flow problems and couldn't / wouldn't come up with the cash as their share when needed. I wouldn't be surprised to hear down track that Cellino did a deal to get them off the hook. GFH were a stumbling block for Cellino and LUFC. I suspect they were holding both back cos of cash flow problems. Not long afterwards GFH were claiming LUFC's value had soared to 50mill plus, I think it's probably a bit more by now.......
Morning all ... on a season long loan there is usually a fee included, which is either up front or monthly, and this removes the recall clause ... the recall clause can only be in a loan contract if there is no fee for the player, and somehow can't see Monk bringing Bartley in with a chance of losing him, so he's here for the season ... also, if he was to be recalled, it can only happen in January, and with the way Leeds are going Bartley would probably want to stay ... Bradley has to fix Swansea with the players he has, and can only sell/sign players in January ... think the Yank owners in South Wales have got this appointment wrong, Bradley is known to be an arrogant fool who rates himself highly and is pig headed, may as well have given the job to Hockaday Taylor has obviously had his head turned by the promise of big Prem contracts, and Leeds can't match those numbers right now ... however, Monk will no doubt be offering Taylor a big bump in wages, plus a guaranteed fat increase if Leeds get promotion ... if a new contract is put on the table soon, we will quickly find out if Taylor wants to stay, and it then opens the way for Leeds to sell Taylor in January should the response be negative ... Monk is planning ahead, and will no doubt have a signing in mind to replace Taylor should he be sold in January ... Taylor can't leave for free in January if it's for a move abroad, but he can sign a pre-contract deal with a foreign club anytime time from 1st January to seal a move in July, but can't do the same with an English club Monk will definitely want to bring in a striker in January, and it's got to be someone who can make an impact ... Jordan Rhodes is probably a good call, but can't see Boro letting him go on loan right now as they aren't exactly scoring for fun, and may turn to Rhodes if their struggles continue Pontus is loving life at Leeds, and interesting how he says Monk hugged him when they first met, and Jansson's first thought was "Finally, a coach who believes in me" ... Monk has clearly developed a bond with his players, and he is known for being honest with them ... removing Murphy, Diagouraga and Turnbull's names from the squad list in the matchday programmes is as transparent as you can get, so expect those three to be available for moves away from Elland Road in January it really is so much better going into games now looking forward to good performances and positive results, long may it continue ... Monk is a winner, an astute manager and a student of the game, and he is starting to have a positive influence on the club ... there is no doubt he has had an impact on Phillips, and his bravery in selecting a kid like Viera shows the dressing room that if you work hard and play to your potential you will have a place in the matchday squad Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Nice one Billy. I mentioned Jordan Rhodes but a few said he is a bad influence in the dressing room and why Strachan got rid from Scot squad? Still think a big statement would be Crouch on a 3 month deal with a view to signing if we hit promotion. Crouch would kill it inn this league but will not get a run of games ever again for anyone in the prem. So he either sits on the bench and picks up wages or he plays football and that means Scotland or Championship. Wife earning down here so Scotland out. It will take a bit of ambition from someone to make this happen, but if we are top 6 at Xmas, we need to invest in a strikers wages to get us over the line. Remember Grayson fell out with Bates at Xmas a few seasons ago as we were top of the league and Bates thought we were promoted so refused to buy anyone. We finished 7th people so lesson learnt I hope. 3 months of Crouch wages is nothing if it works and suspect will already be paid for by increased gates being top 6 and filling the ground when Crouch arrives. Difference between a good businessman and a fool (and Bates was a robbing fool) investing in a probable certainty. Remember promotion is worth well over £100m
Jordan Rhodes is massively overrated, I wouldn't want him. He scores goals but doesn't offer much else and for the money he would cost I would rather we spent it elsewhere....we need a striker in the mould of Andre Gray/Callum Wilson
Agree Crouch could be a really great short term signing, the slight flaw in your plan is, why would we offer him 3 months with a view to a permanent if we hit promotion if he will never get a run of games again in the Prem??
But he would when wed be relegated first season back. Thought Id throw that one in before you know who gets in on the act
Crouch would be a huge (yes, I know) signing, but I doubt he'd drop to the Championship unless it's Newcastle ... thing with Rhodes is we know he can score loads when he's happy and playing, and frankly how can you be happy playing at the Riverside ... Boro built their promotion campaign on a tight defence and boring football, something that didn't suit Rhodes, who lost his Scotland place because he wasn't playing for Boro enough ... don't understand why Boro have kept him, can only be because they expect to use him as an impact sub buying a proven goalscorer costs a fortune in the Championship now, just look at McContract going for £11m and then £12m and still only to Championship clubs ... the Prem parachute money has raised the bar, and it will be difficult to land a decent Championship goalscorer for anything less than at least £6m ... even Roofe, who's come from Lge Two cost £3m, so signing another Andre Gray or Callum Wilson is going to mean writing a fat cheque, money Leeds don't have right now unless The Telegraph actually invests in Cellino's transfer fund it will have to be a loan from a Prem club or a cheque for a lower division leading scorer ... Crouch would be very good, Rhodes is on the fringes and surely Monk can get him firing again ... could be that Arsenal are approached for Sanogo again ... what about other talented youngsters in top club Academies, like Sevilla or Real Madrid, because these will also be needing experience to bring them along ... Monk and Pep have the contacts, so I have faith they will make something happen in January Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Afternoon all I thought there was a rule this season saying you couldn't call player back to their parent club early. So no fear of Bartley going. Going on to the Prem striker we might be getting in January. I think Crouch is a good shout as we were after him at the back end of August.
I was hoping we would get that mould with Roofe but it's not worked out yet. I would happily have Rhodes I'm not going to lie. A top goal scorer and a fine player for the Championship.
