    Good Morning Everyone,

Last night we progressed to Round 3 of the League Cup, whilst virtually resting our entire first team. The winning goal come from young Tyler Denton (an academy product), on his debut.

The young left back won't strike a ball much better than this...

One player that had been frozen out since his biting incident last season is Doukara. It sounded very much like the big man really put in a shift last night

    Thoughts?

Phil Hay caught up with Garry Monk after the game, and asked him about whether there would be any more signings before the beginning of the season.

Monk replied, it was very much his intention to bring further players to the squad.

    Thoughts?

    Are Bamba's days numbered?

If it was up to Leeds fans, I'd say so...

The replays of Luton chances don't do Bamba any favours.. looks like he's got a parachute on his back towing a caravan#Slow #LUFC

Without Bellusci, Bamba sticks out like a sore thumb as our worst defender #lufc

Can't fathom why Bamba is being entertained as a #LUFCplayer. Monk not afraid to make it clear that he doesn't fancy Dave so why not Bamba?

Bellusci leaving has in a way shown up Bamba in a massive way#lufc

    Morning all...

I was reading some player ratings, Bamba, Grimes, Murphy and Doukara all faired poorly, not a good word from anyone on the first three.

Nice to see another young prospect given a chance and taking it. One set of player ratings if anyone wants a read

Remember, Bellusci is only out on loan although I agree unlikely to return..

My personal opinion is that Bellusci was better than Bamba but still not good enough to be in a promotion chasing team.

Bartley, Cooper, Pontus any two from three is sound for me.

Did you watch or see the first save from Silvestre, straight up and came back down hitting the crossbar, good job it wasn't Green ;)

Yeah completely agree ristac. Bellusci was clearly the better defender but not good enough for a team wanting promotion.

Morning ristac, those players that you mention (apart from Grimes) are the current unfashionable players. Seems Bamba is a liability

Lees should still be there instead of Bamba, and Wootton came to us as a CB but played mostly at RB so another screw up and still better option than Bamba. Strangest thing Monk has done is pick Bamba as skipper? He aint good enough to get in starting 11.

Chuffed for young Tyler and the lad is obviously popular with the kids as twitter has been going boom all night. Last night was obviously a shop window and can't see how we get rid of some. So Grimes was garbage again was he? Maybe Monk is going to have to send him back as he may not make it. Grimes was supposed to be on a par with Cook and besides a promising first appearance has gone backwards

    Morning Lover,

Bellusci was as much as his negativity as the constant mistakes he made.

Morning Rev, Bellusci was undoubtedly a much better defender, though prone to suicidal moments on the pitch, when easier and more logical options were available.

Was going to add that myself and forgot, he came over as a bit of a disruption in the dressing room. Apparently he used to tweet stats showing he was better than the other defenders.

Bamba has been a liability for a while now, Doukara is a donkey and he won't be missed either...if Monk is this genius manager as some fans say he is, his decisions on some players are baffling. Good result last night, although we seem to ride our luck during the second half.Morning all <ok>

Worryingly, it is showing we just about have a first team 11 but zero depth. This was Luton we were playing so for the central midfield pairing of Grimes and Murphy not to shine...

Hernandez... I assume he was again played out of position, he didn't fair great either, another set of ratings if anyone is interested, pretty much reflect the first set http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co....0-leeds-united-1-yep-player-ratings-1-8085291

I agree with Shako, some strange decisions still by Monk but still on his side <ok>

    On a BIG positive

    Coyle
    Berardi
    Ayling

    Cooper
    Bartley
    Pontus

    Denton
    Taylor

Looking strong in defence with adequate cover...

Hernandez has performed great in the middle behind the strikers. Agree with Ristac about our new mobile and better quality defence options

I think he was signed purely for the 4-2-3-1

Is Monk afraid to go back to that formation or has he resigned himself to the opinion Wood can't do it alone?

I believe Monk saw the key position being #10 the guy in the middle of the "3" hence Grimes and Hernandez... Switching to 4-4-2 has now created him a problem as he doesn't rate Dallas and where does he put Hernandez

This is where I question his ability. Would the better option have been to play 4-3-2-1 last night and give it a go against lesser opposition? The short preseason might still hurt us more because Monk is certainly putting everything into 4-4-2 and that leaves us with players out of position.

I could have told Monk that Wood could not do it on his own...
