Good Morning Everyone, Heroic England went crashing out of the Euro's last night at the hands of mighty Iceland.... Nope, can't even bring myself to write about it (you see folks, an ethical estate agent ) Needless to say.... Iceland Foods @IcelandFoods 9h9 hours ago Everyone should be passing on their congratulations to @footballiceland they are the football team. We are the UK frozen food specialists The Leeds players returned to pre-season training yesterday :- Good to see the players wearing catapult vests, and investing in sports science. Let's hope this is just the beginning. Garry Monk looking to sign Swansea centre-back Kyle Bartley on season-long loan. Thoughts?
Morning Elland and all. Trying to think of something meaningful and serious to say but todays not the day for that
Good morning all. England were like Leeds good passing football one day, 7 days later looking like a 3rd tier team
Morning ristac, good analogy... If Leeds has progressed, Hart was in for a shout of goldon boot. He already scored 2 own goals (in my opinion)
Had Engerland won, there would have been about 14 pages of nonsense already on the morning thread. Wed better try keep it going as best we can in their absence
Maybe its time to sack the idiots at the FA as they are milking cash and position but lacking in business acumen. It is a business and to succeed you put the best bloke in charge even if you hate the man. We have to appoint Hoddle or even Shearer because they will obviously do better than we saw under Roy. 2 wins in 2 tournaments in 4 years is fooking useless. Next to El Tel, Hoddle was doing great but sacked for non football reason. Beckham too busy but we must have an ex England player who has been there and experienced it. Most top National sides now have ex players and it works for them and Klinsman is even molding a great USA team. Southgate doing U 21 but prefer not. Gary Neville doing senior side under Roy - maybe Hoddle Shearer Beckham or how about best English manager in the prem today; Eddie Howe backed by his mentor Harry
I would like Eddie Howe but he is a Bournemouth man I believe and dropped a division to manage them when they were struggling. We should look at top quality managers really, not someone who has done decent with ****e clubs but has failed when he went to a big club (Roy) and I don't think we should be going for someone who has little to no managerial experience (shearer, Beckham, Neville). I don't think he has to be English but he has to enjoy playing with a positive playing style, someone like pep. Problem is international managerial roles are not as big a draw as they used to be so it makes it hard
I think you are right Doc! But I suppose they think that they are above blame. Was there not something from a couple of years ago where they were accused of insisting certain high profile players must play in games. Would anyone honestly want Hart and Rooney in an England team now. Shearer said he couldn't have done any worse than the likes of Capello and Hodgson.....to be honest, neither could any of us either, it was just a complete shambles.
My thoughts Surely the real problem is the players are not good enough? And is this not related to the big money in the Prem sucking in foreign players? On the manager, agree he's not much use - Shearer is best staying as a pundit where he's never wrong though Finally, a God team would beat Iceland, agreed. But they are tough to beat. We've seen this before, Ireland under Charlton, the USA at recent world cups. Welded together even average players can perform
I see Bellusci missed the first day back at training because he was in Italy sorting out family issues - hopefully a new house and school for the kids

The 25-year-old, who is the Allsvenskan’s top scorer this season after hitting 10 goals from his opening 12 matches, has put pen to paper on a three-year deal at Elland Road. Antonsson has previously worked under United’s new assistant coach Pep Clotet at Swedish side Halmstads BK, and the highly sought after forward becomes Garry Monk’s first addition to the squad. “It feels fantastic to be here,” Antonsson told leedsunited.com shortly after signing his contract. “Ever since Leeds came into the picture, it seemed like the perfect choice. I wanted this move as soon as Leeds contacted me. “Playing in England has been a big dream of mine. Coming to a big club like Leeds is a dream come true and I will work very hard for the team in every game. I will not miss this opportunity." Antonsson spent five years with homeland outfit Halmstads, netting 11 times in 71 league matches, before making the switch to Kalmar last year and enjoying a prolific run of 22 goals from 40 games. Asked what the United supporters can expect to see from the club’s newest recruit, the striker replied: “First of all, I like to score goals. I’m fast inside the box and my big strength is my timing in the box. “I always try to work very hard for the team - I run a lot of metres – but scoring goals is my main thing.” Head coach Garry Monk added: “It’s great to make that first signing. In terms of how he plays, Marcus is a different striker to what we’ve got already, so that gives us options up front. “He’s done exceptionally well over the last couple of seasons. He scores goals, has great movement and he has the mentality to be able to adapt to this league. “The club has watched a lot of him, I’ve watched a lot of him and I felt he’d be a good fit for Leeds United. “Marcus will come into the group with some really good strikers in the squad already. It will help them and it will give us options to adapt in different games.” The deal to bring Marcus Antonsson to Leeds United is subject to international clearance. - See more at: http://www.leedsunited.com/news/article/1nsxt83dgmour1c2f180hiktyt#sthash.673gzOdd.dpuf
Clearly the club has waited to make new signings until misery guts Glory was out of the picture. The new players will get a couple of weeks to settle in before the old grump returns to pick holes in them
