Good Morning Everyone, What on earth is going on with Bamba? We were supposed to be in negotiations with him 3 weeks ago Then came the Boro bluff (Bamba's agent telling the club that Boro were interested, followed very quickly by a Boro denial) Tthen we were supposed to have offered him a contract! Now it's gone quiet again.... Should be sign Bamba? Is there better out there that may come to Leeds? What are your thoughts about Bellusci and Bamba at the back? Aidy White is due to sign up with Rotherham on a one year deal. I am sure we all wish him well. Lee Erwin could sign for Leeds Utd as early as today. A fee believed to be in the region of £375,000 and a probable sell on clause has been agreed with Motherwell. The Scottish U21 international is believed to be a very physical player. This is something we have lacked up front. It is still early days in the transfer market, but I for one think we are moving in the right direction.
Morning Elland... Each to their own but I can't for the life of me work out why Erwin and a keeper for the future (how old is Silvestre) is a move in the right direction. If a rival fan said we are going to improve on last season because we have signed these two players we would laugh in their face and rightly say no improvement looks likely
Morning ristac, two young international players, both full of potential (best case scenario). Worst case scenario they haven't cost us much. Don't get me wrong, these will be squad players. I expect 10 signings or so during the Summer.
But that's my point Elland we have a squad full of "squad players" Erwin has played for two teams, Abroath and Motherwell and has an average of 0.29 goals a game, on paper that is awful. We were after him a couple of weeks ago before the head of recruitment was in place so you can safely say this is another Cellino cheap option. Last season it was the same, all signings a gamble or worse case didn't cost much. Then Cellino tells us his "gambles" cost £9million with fees etc, it's just a complete waste of time. As for Horton he has never actually played a league game, surely we need better cover for Silvestre just in case he goes on strike again with another scratched back
Morning all. We've done nothing in transfer market yet. Simple as. Cellino promised three or four quality signings and increased wages to move us forward with right quality signings. Hasn't happened yet, could be a long wait
Nobody had heard of Snodgrass before we bought him. Believe quite a few of the players from our squad will leave in the Summer.
F or every Snoddy we've signed though Elland, we've signed ten Cameron Stewads. That's the proble. I watch plenty Scottish football and it's not great, mainly crap in fact
Horton is replacing Alex Cairns. Let's not forget that Atkinson, Cairns and Taylor have all been released.

Bates at least appointed managers and scouts who uncovered the likes of Snoddy and Gradel and Beckford, unlike Cellino who thinks he can find better. It's okay saying who had heard of the Joe Jordan's and Snodgrass but these were uncovered by better people with a better class of judgement not some fool who wouldn't sign you if you wore purple or was born on the 17th
Ristac, these signings aren't gonna improve our first team and I'm not gonna be getting excited until we do make signings that do improve our first team but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be making these signings. We still have much to do but don't get disheartened quite yet.
Let us see who is still in place come December Your opening question in regards to Bamba... Cellino signed how many loans with a clause to sign? The non signing of Bamba shows that the clause is pony, it is based on possible future value if we were to gain promotion and having a player that would double in value. Who wouldn't sign Bamba after his displays last season and remembering he had hardly kicked a ball all season till he joined us
We shall see, same as previous seasons, we wait and wait and when nothing arrives we try to remain positive as our attention turns to which PL teams are willing to loan out players. Erwin really has nothing to offer that we didn't have with Smith who signed a year extension and was swiftly sold for profit. I will give him a chance as I will and do every player who pulls on a shirt.
Not denying any of that, but now is far too early to judge our squad for the new season. Unfortunately we do have to wait until such a time.
