I know what your'e saying, but he may be good enough to get us out of this League, then we could worry about a younger keeper. Although, if we are to be ambitious, I don't think we should be thinking of selling on any of our young players. But that's just my opinion..
Morning all. Rumours on twitter and elsewhere suggesting there is more to these appointments than meets the eye. None are what would be expected of Cellino and Pearson is far too experienced to walk into a mess where he could be fired in a few weeks, or so youd think. So take your pick from (a) Pearson has bought gfh shares or is in process (b) Buyout is happening and these appointments are tomake club more stable and therefore more appealing or (c) Cellino staying put and has learned lessons from the past and putting a proper team in place Of course theres probably (d) Cellino will sack them all before the season kicks off
Morning all and I got to say well done to Grayson and Beckford, and wonder where Beckford will be plying his trade next season. Bolton have released him and I expect Grayson to pick him up on a free so be aware that Grayson gets the best out of him and he could be golden boot guy again next season, lets hope he's injured when he plays us. I hope Cellino has learnt a lesson and is going to leave Pearson and co alone, or he is doing a deal to sell up. Massive cash in prem now and parachute payments have risen again so I expect Norwich to do a WBA and yo you a for another season, but will make it happen, unlike us who were in League 1 with them got promoted with them and watch them hit prem, just like Southampton did. Jealous, yes I fooking am and am hoping for better things next season, but don't expect to get them.
Couldn't we have waited a couple of days and either got Steve Maclaren or Paul Clement. Clement is to leave Real Madrid and replace Maclaren, what a pedigree Clement has Chelsea, Pasis SG, Real Madrid and won a shyte load of siilverwear under Gus Hiidink and Carlo Ancollotti, we get a geezer with hardly any pedigree at all except with Brentford and Wigan. Fingers crossed for Uwe Rosler, may have even had a chance for Big Sam
Wonder why Cellino wasted a season with a poor backroom staff why now? On paper its brilliant but can't help but feel he is getting out and setting it up right due to demands from bidding parties
McLaren I wouldn't want the wally with the brolly found wanting from March onwardsThey were top then finished 8 and he had spent big on 2 loanees and Warnock Bent would not have been cheap and Ince again costly so he didn't finish the job off result the sack
Paul Clement why would he swap Madrid even if the euro is depreciating at a rapid rate of knots for the circus at ER
Because he has just lost his job at Madrid because Ancollotti has left to have an operation. Clement takes over at Derby the village team down the M1 as his first solo outfit. he would have been better at a big club north of Derby
Well how do we know he can hack it we don't Does he know the league like say Grayson does NO they are taking a big chance
So you are seriously stating that Clement wont be able to hack it? You prefer a coach like Rosler who has had a couple of attempts at proving he can do it, to someone with a proven pedigree of working with some of the top coaches in the world at some of the worlds top clubs. I suppose you would have also said Murinho wouldn't make it because he was only an interpretor for Bobby Robson. You're taking the piss obviously? lets look at a couple of coaches used by Murinho as an example. The dick head at Liverpool and Karanka who almost brought Midds back from the dead
I don't usually agree with 60 but he has a point - what evidence is there that Clement will be a good manager? Personally I think he'll be excellent but working with good coaches doesn't make you a good manager. Meulensteen springs to mind. For all the coaches who have worked with Mourinho/Ancelotti/Benitez/etc, how many have forged successful management careers? You've picked out the two or three exceptions, not the rule. As I said, personally I think Clement will be a big success, but it's definitely a risk.
Report: Leeds want Manchester City's Jose Pozo Leeds United are expected to make a number of additions over the coming months. please log in to view this image Leeds United are said to be interested in signing Jose Pozo from Manchester City in the Yorkshire Post. Leeds are looking to add to their squad to enable new manager Uwe Rosler to put his stamp on their team and they reportedly feel that Pozo could be a good addition. The talented City youngster has impressed for the Premier League club's development side this season and he has even received first-team action for Manuel Pellegrini's men. However, City cannot promise him regular appearances for their senior squad and, as a result, they may be willing to allow him to leave on loan. Leeds are apparently at the head of the queue for his signature and it would be quite a coup for the Championshipside if they were able to land him.
Evening Eire. My personal opinion is B. I can't see Cellino suddenly changing personality after all these years (by his own admission) unless Pearson has somehow made him realise his approach is ****ing up his investment. All these appointments are so unlike Cellino it just seems like another party is putting this management structure in place (I could be well wrong of course - so D is a possibility).
Kiwi I get where you're coming from but think it unlikely that some of the best coaches in the world would even contemplate using Clement if they didn't know his capabilities. Yes going it alone doesn't always work as you quite rightly stated, but the chances of Clement not working out when compared to Hockaday is not much of a gamble. Rosler hasn't set the world on fire anywhere, even in Scandinavia, although he had a decent playing career. Brentford was a decent job and Wigan was great to start with, but wheels fell off quickly the following season and he was sacked by a guy who doesn't sack people? Wonder what happened because Wigan got relegated and by keeping Rosler they may have survived. So not sure about him at all. But Rosler or Clement would be a no-brainer for me especially for his contacts.
Completely agree, but some coaches should remain coaches. How many times have we seen a number 2/first team coach step up after a manager has been sacked and failed miserably? Coaching and managing are two different jobs and some can't hack it. Granted, this is Paul Clement, assistant manager to Carlo Ancelotti and not the reserve team manager at Accrington Stanley, but you get my point.
Cheers mate There is a past connection with Mourinho and Karanka at Real Madrid. No doubt Jose has done him a favour for the season to get Bamford game time. Could be a problem for Boro if Chelsea wont loan him out for another season.
