Good Morning Everyone, Does the future look bright at Elland Road? please log in to view this image Does the current homegrown talent equal that of days gone by? In the past we have seen Delph, Milner, Speed, Batty and many others come out of our youth team system. At this stage of their career's were they comparable?
In a word no. For a start I am not sure that Delphi belongs in that list. I don't think even mad Mike would take any of the current crop ahead of Speed, Batty or Boring.
Good morning to Matt and co on a very sunny Bardsey I watched the game last night and my first thoughts was how on earth is Falcao worth 2m never mind 40 and his agent must be the best in the business because quite frankly no big club would touch him with a barge pole .He was dreadful and put little or no effort into the game I will stick my neck out and say I think as one of the most coveted players in the past he would be lucky to find any decent club interested in him The only thing he did last night was make an advert for specsavers when is number came up Smalling how on earth he gets into the England team beats me he panicks at the least thing .If LVG plays this team against Arsenal they will get hammered De Gea looked like Gary Sprake diving over the ball not his best night Right down to your question I think that we have a great prospect with Charlie Taylor Mowatt still not sure about gets easily dispossed Cook has the credentials to have an outstanding career and I think that Cooper will play in the PL A word of warning Wayne Harrison was an outstanding propect when he was bought by Liverpool from Oldham for £1m Abdu was a young American who was compared to Pele Harrison never played for Liverpool to his potential and was consigned to the scrap heap Abdu at 24 runs a night club in New York so its early days no doubt bird brain will have somthing to say !
There was a game last night? Do I you remember you criticising when Thomson joined as asst. coach from Huddersfield. I would suggest he may well have some significant part to play in our defence looking a bit more solid. Certainly as much as Bambi, who after all has only played in half the games since new year..., Come on Reading, if ever a game shouldn't be on tele it's Bradfud v Reading.
I have never commented on Thompson appointment period I have had my doubts but I think you are suffering from early dementia As for your comment about the fact that the Bradford game should no be on telly I would sooner watch this match than Aston Villa V west brom it will be a cracking tie and hopefully a win for the Bantams!v They have done Yorkshire proud
The Thompson comment was made by someone, it was bollocks, so I am sure you can see why I thought it might well have been you that posted it................ Done Yorkshire proud? When did footy become a county game, there is no reflected glory from their progress. It just means that fat greasy oik chairman can get his face on tele a bit more.
Morning Agreed with Glory this current crop is not as good as academy players gone by. This is problem with the modern game if you have a decent academy player then one of the Prem Teams will buy him up. Look a Micah Richards was in our Academy then moved to Citeh's Academy. However I don't think English Clubs are producing the Talent we had 10 - 20 years ago, it's more trendy to bring in players from abroad plus in some cases it's cheaper. Regarding the England team we've notgot the player we had in the past but we have got some talent coming through but Hodgson should have never been given the job. He not good enough for the big stage that was clear enough during the Liverpool debacle
Morning All, Was it not Sniffer that did the Thompson rant? Apols to Sniffer if I'm wrong. I think it's very difficult to compare players from different eras. I will say one thing though - I think it's easier to get broken into a team on your ownio, rather than as part of a clutch of youngsters. On your own, you're surrounded by a lot of experience to cover for you, guide you & teach you.
Morley has an ls postcode get your facts right for a village it has 27k residents When you come up with something half right I will probably have my biggest surprise in my life you are a loud mouthed dispicable human being who has nothing good to say about anybody or thing get back in your hole!
With the kids, it's hard to truly judge them yet. Usually young players are phased into teams with experienced players but that isn't the case here, the youth are the team - it's on their shoulders. Redfearn is saying this is the new Revie crop, not because he thinks they are, but to see if he can get them to believe it and be the driving force for the next couple of years.
But postcodes only exist to allow automated mail sorting and nothing to do with the point you are making. Btw its despicable you cretin.
That is not a comment on his coaching abilities but I think nothing of Danny Ward who plays with blinkers on
Ristac if you read what Chippy has put he says quite clearly do you remember criticising Thompson when he was made assistant coach .To which I replied no I didnt ! PERIOD
As an unbiased interloper on this board, I think that your comment about Glory is very harsh and certainly very far from the truth (as I see it). Glory has his opinions and a very reasoned approach when arguing them Although he does come across as rude at certain times, I am pretty sure that it is his Yorkshire genes at work, more than anything else
BRENDON ORMSBY BENEFIT MATCH please log in to view this image Leeds United XI vs John Sheridan's XI A benefit game is currently being arranged for our former captain Brendon Ormsby who unfortunately suffered a stroke in 2013. A host of former Leeds United players are being pulled together by Neil Parsley for the game on Sunday the 19th of April 2015 at Farsley Celtic's Throstles Nest. Ex-players such as Gary McAllister, Gary Kelly, Ian Baird, Andy Couzens and Glyn Snodin have all committed to play in the game and it is hoped that David Batty will also feature. It would be fantastic to see a capacity crowd in support of a man who captained Leeds United to an F.A Cup Semi-Final and a Play-off Final in 1987. More details will be announced in due course across several media platforms.
Birmingham in receivership. Could be a life line for the wallies, although this doesn't necessarily mean a 10 point deduction.
