We have suffered by not having wingers, this has been going of for years.

Add Max Gradel/Robert Snodgrass and Mccormack to this team and we would challenge for top spot.

I still think we have a better team/squad than last year, overall.
Obviously if we still had McCormack it would be massively better.

I think we'll be 11th - 15th which is still disappointing, but if we do finish in that area then next season is going to be massively important to see if we can progress

This was always going to be a transition year. One can't bring in 16 new players and expect it all to work from day one. What hasn't helped us is the 2 to 3 months we lost with Hockmadoodlegandi and Milanic. But we all make mistakes (as the dalek said climbing off a dustbin!!)

If we keep the new players that are featuring regularly and not lose any of our crop of kids, we should be nailed on for top 6 with a better than even chance of top 2. I was thinking earlier, with Cook, Mowatt, Byram, taylor and Dawson, when was the last time we had such a crop of youngsters all pushing hard for starting berths. And to think we were worrying about White, Parker and Poleon. It's not all bad. We are progressing. In Redfearn/Cellino I trust, MOT!!!

Eire, if we lose to Blackpool at the weeknd, you'll be 2nd in the queue for the lifeboats..... with me first and busily rowing away at a rate of knots.

Not really Shaks. We hit rock bottom in L1 & have been inching back up ever since. This was a transition year due to the volume of incomers and outgings. We now have a Chairman with a proper load of pennies and a squad, albeit with some dross still around, mre than capable of making a difference.

Not sure we'll make autos this season. But top 6 is still more than possible with a bit more luck. Keep the faith chaps.

I'm not just talking about the players, I was including the end of the Ridsdale era, when we went into administration, we had to sell our top players, we had different owners, different managers, how long ago was that.

We have an egotistical owner who admitted that he is picking the players to buy, granted he's cleared a lot of debts and overheads, but all the average supporter wants are decent players, not 2nd rate foreigners.

Remember Cellino is using his own cash to buy the players Shaks so he's probably entitled to a big say. All our previous ones back to Risdale used someone else so it was easy to give a manager a free hand, it wasn't their money

Judging by his shirts you would be a brave man to put it on.

That maybe true Eire, but I don't agree with it. He's only been at the club a wet day and IMO he doesn't have the experience or knowledge regarding British based players, that why he's gone for the players he has gone for. I'm not saying that buying British would work either. We will know a lot more after our game against the worst side in the division.

Off thread, but did you see that Ryanair have taken 25% off their flights for Jan, my young lad has just paid my flight for a christmas pressie for the uddersfield away game...<ok>

The lifeboats are already rowing away from the ship.

All we need now is for the taxis to pull down their rates over there. Taxis will cost more than the flights

Good luck getting tickets. Us St holders are buying nearly every away ticket before they get released to the plebs. ;)
