Good Morning Everyone, Leeds escaped from Carrow Road last night with a lucky, yet well deserved point. At the back, Milanic bought in Beradi in place of Warnock, and the Swiss defender stuck to his role. In fact the stats say he won 5 tackles, and completed 86% of his passes. Darko claimed that dropping Warnock was simply a tactical decision. Speaking after the game, he said "It's extremely important all the players have a feeling they are players for the first team. "This was my decision for this game. The wingers for them (Norwich) were extremely quick, and extremely good. Our full backs made a very good match." Doukara showed his strength well, shrugging off challenges before scoring. Last night's game was marred by an allegation of racial abuse by Norwich forward Cameron Jerome. "Cameron has alleged that a racist remark was made on the pitch, which is why he was reacting as he was," Adams said. "Bellusci is the player who has been alleged to have made the remark. My concern was to speak to Cameron at the break to make sure his head was right. "I think Mark Clattenburg dealt with it well because of obviously the nature of what happened. He came over and explained to Darko and myself what Iâm saying to you now; that he'd gone over to Cameron, Cameron had said to the referee a racist remark had been made, and that's why he came over and explained. "He spoke to the players involved at half-time with a representative from each of the clubs, I think he's taken statements after the game and obviously the referee will submit a report to the FA and obviously we'll all take it from there." Although our attempts at goal were few and far between, I do feel that we are moving forward. Where do Leeds need to strengthen? Where is our weak link?
Morning Elland and others. Actually believe last night was a very good result if you disregards our season so far. At any time, we'd have settled for a draw away to Norwich given their league position and being likely promotion contenders. The down side of course is that we're not picking up many points and a couple of back to back wins are urgently needed to get us into the comfort zone. Certainly a game we would have lost in previous years. The racist comment is a worry and surely gives the authorities the opportunity to have a dig at us again
Mornin all Got to disagree Ell with the last bit, we are not moving forward at all on that showing, apart from the goal, Douk was very poor, Sam seems to have gone backwards, and the rest were all second best on the night, part from our saviour between the sticks.
Agree that we should be happy with that result as Norwich is always a tough game (and on a Tuesday night). Sounds like their goal was controversial too. I'm worried about Bellusci now. If he's found guilty we are goin to miss him
Morning Xbpod, we have managed to move the dross out of ER, that cannot have been easy. I remember not being able to string two passes together. The most we could have expected was one pass, hoof. We are playing the ball around, and look comfortable on the ball I reckon
Morning Orion, agree about Bellusci. Didn't Jerome strike Bellusci? He should have been off!!! (Jerome)
Morning all. A point away from home to a side almost nailed on for top 6 if not top 2 when we are a new team in transition is no mean result. Yes, we could have done better. But I was seriously worried that we would get turned over badly, that Cellino would panic and sack Darko, and we would be back to square 1. Bit worried about this race question. It was all over the commentary last night. But I hope nothing comes of it.
Ell agree with the first part, but we are not comfortable on the ball, its a couple of easy low risk passes, then run out of options and panic a pass to no one or someone under pressure, just to get rid of it. Also the way Norwich play meant it should have been easy to retain the ball as they are not an aggressive side. That said a good away draw, but I think Norwich were there to be beaten.
Good morning Matt and co from a sunny Cote de Barsey Surely its Belusci word agianst Jerome ahd can be sorted with a handsake. It was important we kept quite Redmond who I highlighted as there dangermanand we did that well enough Didnt see the game as i dont know how to stream but Im sure someone can give the players ratings for me We need back to back wins now starting at home on Saturday
I am not so sure that Norwich fall in to that category to be honest. Sure, we have the players that are probably more than capable but we are like QPR have been for 4 seasons - disjointed and not playing as a team, never mind consistently.
Agreed, walking to the ground in front of 4 Norwich fans, and not 1 of them thought they would get a win, best result they could see for them was a draw.
That would depend as to what exactly Bellusci said to enrage Jerome so much, every lip reading expert will be clambering to view any video of the incident that may determine what was said, if a fan was accused of racism by a steward/Police officer they are banned from every ground for at least a couple of years, Suarez got a 8 game ban that will be the best Bellusci can hope for coupled with the excuse the 'insult' was infact a translation misunderstanding.
Interesting points you make Thai. Given that you've just come down from the PL and have the parachute payments to allow you to buy who you want, I would have thought that a top 6 finish would be the bare minimum your fans would expect. That said, a few indifferent results of late. So who knows?
Morning all. Sounded like Duke had a bad game, but scored again! Lovely little through ball by Adyran as well. Dukes is banned for wolves who comes in? I'd change the formation before giving Morrison the nodd, sadly I don't think that will happen. Sharp I see as an impact sub or a swap for Anttenuci so don't see him starting. Hope Montenegro at least makes the bench!
A top 6 at worst was expected by virtually everyone, especially after the first 6 games, but for whatever reason the wheels have fallen off and we are now doing a Millwall - no wins in 7! The new man, Neil Adams, was not universally accepted as manager but many have been prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt, but his honeymoon period is probably over now and the pressure from the crowd is growing. Anything less than a top 6 finish for Norwich will be viewed as abject failure by most city fans, and perhaps fans of most other clubs in the Championship, given (as you say the parachute payments and the current squad). The problem as I see it is the link between midfield and the front line, more so when a team defends deep and/or packs the box, we just can't find a way through. Lets see what the next month or two brings and I think I will be in a better position to know if the season will end in tears or not
Happy with the result and Doukarras finish last night was fantastic! I agree with a previous poster on here about us needing a couple of back to back wins to get back in the comfort zone. Looking at our next 3 fixtures though it's not going to be easy! This is a hard run, Wolves, Cardiff and Charlton!! 3 teams who have been solid this season with the exception of Cardiff but Russell Slade seems to have transformed them. Think he's 2 wins from 2 now? I worry about Milanic being fired if we don't get any results soon. I want him to stay and people that are calling for him to go are insane!! How would a 4th coach this season benefit the squad?
Montenegro looked decent on Monday Bucks and could start tbh as for Jerome that guy has thrown the race card around for years
