Good Morning Everyone, Heroics by Wednesday goalie Kieran Westwood ensured they left the Yorkshire derby with a point in front of a crowd of just over 24,000. Fingertip saves from Antenucci and a 30 yard rocket from Austin were just two reasons why Westwood deserves his reputation as being one of the Championships best keepers. Is it more then a coincidence that for the second game running Warnock was dropped. Not only was he dropped, but he was dropped for in favour of another player playing out of position. Is there more to this one then meets the eye? Another player who is not happy with the situation is Billy Sharp. Apart from the gimme against Boro on his debut, he hasn't really looked like scoring. Word has it, he has expressed his displeasure with the Milanic! Still no game time for Montenegro or Adryan. Adryan has played two under 21 games, and commanding a price tag of 3m euro's, surely he must make his way onto the pitch at some time. Now that Darko has three games under his belt, what is our opinion of him? Happy or not? Is it going to take a bit of time for a new manager to bed in?
Good morning Matt and his boys partricularly Redjock who has probably just gone to bed,the weather here on the Cote is absolutely awful I wont be sunning it today no need for a bottle of Oyster Bay today more like hot bovril the order of the day My take on Saturday we played well in parts certainly deserved a win but a certain Westwood was outstanding I have always rated this lad and couldn't understand why we didn't get him on a free this season but I will stick with Silvestri a future Italian international goalkeeper I would have taken off Mowatt and Sloth at half timethey were light weight brought Sharp on earlier and would have liked to have seen Montenegro I felt that this was not the game to bring on Adryan .Magire was given far too much room so it wasn.t surprising to see him score and very stupidly celebrate in front of our kop inciting trouble the manager took him off before he would have got sent off Pluses Berliscoli scored a very clever goal Antenucci on any other day would have scored an hattrick Bianchi worked tirelessly Poor the two I mentioned plus Beradi should have got hgis body in to stop the shot for their goal Darko not up to scrach yet but getting there MIKE
Morning Elland and all. As I've said elsewhere, I'm more than happy with Saturday's performance. Miles better than any of the live TV match performances of the past two seasons. I've seen people questioning Milanic after three games, which quite frankly, is bordering on the pathetic. God knows what the Warnock thing is about. If you can believe them, he's been mouthing to the sun rag and the pfa. If true, unlikely of course, that would be a real clever way of getting back in favour with Cellino and Milan. Now for another damn two week international break and Ireland v Gibraltar. Can't wait
Morning Mike, looking out my office window in Shirley, its pelting it down. I'm just a little envious thinking why should a team like Wednesday have the services of Westwood and Kirkland. I'd love us to have some width. Other teams have got used to our formation now. Bianci is a great signing.
Pretty happy with Milanic. It's going to take time for the team to settle. This is our 3rd coach already this season and as I keep saying, he's not Hockaday!! As for the Warnock thing. It has to be a fabricated story surely?? Thought we played really well on Saturday and we were playing for the 3 points. Not been this positive about a Leeds squad for a few seasons now!! Full credit to Westwood though he had an outstanding game!!
Darko can't be judged yet, he's only getting to know the players and his new surroundings. I thought we passed the ball well at times, but again with no real final ending. I also thought certain players held onto the ball too long instead of passing to others who were in better positions. All in all not a bad result, like Leeds60 said I can't understand why we didn't go for Westwood. As for Warnock, he has been playing well so a bit surprised he's been dropped, only time will tell the reasons why. Morning all.
Morning all - It was two points dropped but a decent performance, we looked fantastic for parts of the game and average for others but that should improve. I thought Adryan was younger than 20, I was surprised when the commentator mentioned his age, he needs to be playing now if he is as good as they say he is. Redfearn never played him either so you have to assume he isn't impressing enough in training, maybe he just needs a bit more time to settle. Warnock would have possibly prevented that goal, he should have been playing on Saturday, I have a feeling Cellino has called the shots on him being benched, obviously something going on. I remember when they were at a pre-season training camp news coming out that he had been released by Cellino so something is smoldering away. It will take Darko a while to settle and we need to give him a chance, good for us and him that we have an International break. If you judge him on the way the team played on Saturday rather than results it has to be 8/10.
The fact Warnock is one of the three big earners remaining from the past regime probably isn't helping his position. Id imagine, sooner rather than later Cellino wants him, Hunt and Morisson off the monthly pay
Morning all. Decent enough result on Saturday. At least we created a few good chances. Think the reason why Sharp isn't getting as much game time as he/we thought he would is that Anetnucci and Doukara are putting in a fair shift together. Sharp will just have to deliver a bit more when given his opportunity. Only disappointing apct of Saturday for me was again the lack of Adryan and Montenegro. Both need game time to show why they should be signed and whether or not we should keep them on loan. On Darko, I think it will take him time, and I'm not sure why Warnock isn't playing at lb. Surely we don't want to go back to fitting squre pegs in round holes. Given the international break, I'm hoping the club arrange a BCD game to give Montenegro, Adryan and others a game against some decent opposition.
Morning all Yeah always rated Westwood but wouldnt swap him for who we got! Weathers pants here to El, first time in along time I've had to dig out the coat Anyone else think there maybe some kind of contract clause with Adryan that triggers a higher payment for games played or something like that? I would have slung him on for Sloth rather than Murphy. Murphy once again was invisible and we know what we get out of him. Hate the international break but its great timing for darko to get to know his troops and to get his ideas across. Also its a little more time for the likes on Monty and Adryan to settle and to force there way into the first team.
There was a piece of paper still not signed last week by his agent. Cellino said that wasn't preventing him playing but Im betting it is
