Good Morning Everyone, A win at last, even if it is against League 1 opposition. Leeds travelled down south to the County Ground last night and gave a much better account of themselves. Some of the comments coming from Phil Hey were as follows :- 'Doukara shot deflected over after some terrific build-up between Bianchi, Tonge and Byram. Seeing a real footballer in Bianchi tonight'. '1-1. Much, much better. Bianchi's been impressive, Byram looks like his old self. Just the goal to complain about if you so wish'. 'Seems like Doukara's fitness is kicking in. He should have had a couple of goals' Our roaming reporter BiilyStatue was also at the match and had this to say :- 'We looked better, big improvement ... Bianchi is class, he can play and if Viviani and Benedicic are better than Bianchi we have a midfield ... Morison scored (expect a bid from Holloway now), another Rudy pen ... can't decide between Byram or Berardi at right back' Sheffield Wednesday after after Tom Lees. Lets not forget he is only 23 and has his best years in front of him. Do we sell him? If so, how much? We are close to signing Zan Benedicic from AC Milan on loan with a view to a permanent switch. Benedicic was sent back to Milan from the United States late last night where the rest of his Milan teammates had been enjoying their pre season preparations and talks are expected to be concluded shortly. In other news, we are expected to bid £500,000 for Liam Cooper, but Chesterfield want closer to £1m. Cardiff striker Joe Mason is wanted on loan by Brighton. Nottingham Forest have signed Chris Burke on a two-year contract.
Morning all, was nice to hear that the team played better. Get a guy in who can bag us 20 goals up front and I would be happy to see Smith sit on the bench. The two new guys we are close to capturing at the moment, I assume was is to replace Austin and the other to challenge/replace Murphy?
Morning Ristac, I believe so. Austin certainly did not do enough last season to keep his shirt. Seems a bit better this pre season.
It sounded as though we were playing much better, I wasn't there I am just going by the radio and media reports but on another thread Xbpod thought we were dire http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/271212-Just-Back-From-Swindon
I saw that. Hay said we were miles better. We need to keep possession a lot better, and tighten up at the back.
Rose tinted glasses last night I fear. Doukara played well, Austin put his boot in when needed, Sam looked injured from early on. Game played at half pace as only pre season but we still struggled to retain the ball, apart from passing it across the back line. I had a more possitive outlook on the season before watching last night. I thought we were dire.
Mixed reports then which is a pity really. It does however show us that the likes of Warnock, Tonge, Austin and Morison need leaving at home. They should be replaced by either kids like Cook and Dawson or the new players. It's no use Hock saying we are getting better slowly as we only have just over a week before the season starts. Let Tom Lees go as well because all our trouble starts with stupid mistakes at the back and a midfield who can't hold the ball or pass it. Bianci, Viviani, Murphy, Dawson, Byram, Cook can all play in the right areas so we should be mixing things up between them right now.
Good morning Matt and co from a rather cloudy Bardsey Nice to see a win at last and it would appear we have found a nugget in Bianchi I was disappointed to see Burke has signed for Forest yesterday so that's one off my list! Delfonso has signed for Blackpool so they now have 12 players registered We are trying to loan Danny Graham a player who has been more than useful in this league but has found it difficult in the big boys league not a bad aquisition for me Don't know anything about Cooper of Chesterfield but he his just the right age and would replace Lees who I was never sure about seemed to be always out of position and a ball watcher to boot the price for Lees well MC work your magic and get £1m Have we signed Vivani yet Matt and Zen Benedici seems to be on his way lets hope we turn our attention to Agard nextwe need goals
Austin played well till Nov last season so it doesn't bode well for this season no more news on Murray?
Fookin cloudy Mike, yer what??? Bianchi according to Haigh and Billy was amazing.Viviani - waiting for the ink to dry!!! Morning btw
Morning all. Much better lst night. Still a long way to go, but I think w're moving in the right direction. Austin will provide the steel in midfied, which will allow all these Italian showponies and Murphy to have the room to be more creative. There will be some bad days ahead. But we are improving. The Hock just needs time to fit all the pieces togther.
Been reading a few reports that the delays in signing these two is that Cellino wants them on loan with a view to a permanent signing, both parent clubs seem reluctant. My fear in these loan signings is that nobody really expects us to go up this year so if we do have to loan with no option to buy and we have to send back then we are back to square one next season and remember Doukara is only on loan I believe Viviani will replace Austin myself.
Morning all. Things are looking up and towards the goal this morning. I think Mike should get online to MC and keep him straight about Agard. Danny Graham did well towards the back end of season at Middlesboro and does have a pretty good record at this level. A loan move to Leeds could fire him up again !!
Morning all http://spoughts.co.uk/2014/07/29/football-league-accidentally-leak-new-leeds-united-away-kit/
Morning Dave, I read somewhere that we'd only take Danny Graham on loan if Sunderland paid his £30,000 pw wages. They'd prefer to sell him, so I can't see it happening. Agreement I believe has been reached with AC Milan making the Benedicic deal a loan to buy.
