Good Morning Everyone, Berardi has finally put pen to pay and signed a two year deal. The 25 yo right back sounds promising. You'd think anybody signing from Sampdoria would expect a starting slot, wouldn't you? Would anyone prefer Byram to play on the right wing? Reported coming out of France suggest that Leeds are after highly rated striker Andy Delort. The 22-year-old, was the joint leading goalscorer in Ligue 2 last season accumulating 24 goals in 36 games for his current club Tours. Spanish side Athletico Madrid are currently leading the chase however with the extra funds from the sale of Ross McCormack Leeds want to re-invest into the squad with Delorts agent & father meeting with Leeds representatives. Hockaday has hinted that Lewis Cook may very well be in the starting line up at the Den next month! The 17 year old midfielder impressing during our 2-0 win against Guisley.
Good Morning Matt and co froma partially sunny cote de Bardsey I believe we are looking at Sam Winnall the ScunThorpe striker and VIvandi is seemingly close to signing for £2m These are the type of players we should be aiming at hungry and Young Hudson is being banded about but his best days are behind him so I would leave him alone I have a slight hangover after yesterdays party this time I concentrated on white wine Interesting to see Eire is staying in Torreviaca I wondered what it was like the places to eat as my cousin who stayed with me for 3 weeks recently is going in August for a month .I told him it would be far too hot for him but he wouldn't listen The Scottish defender we are interested in could be Grant Hanley from Blackburn so we will have to see how that pans out .Don't know anything about him no doubt our learned posters will though mike
Byram could be very effective on the right wing remember the goal he scored at Bolton 2 seasons ago lets hope he remains injury free this season
Morning all, extra funds from the Ross sale, 48 hours ago Cellino couldn't dip into it as it was required to fund the purchase of ER. Lots of stories going round at the moment will be glad when it all stops and we have a settled team. So far the young keeper sounds promising and Berardi, fingers crossed we get a decent striker this week along with a quick skilful midfielder/wide player.. If we get one wide player surely we will get two, one for each side, leaving Byram and White as cover and options on the bench. With White and Byram we would have two subs covering 4 positions
Morning Mike, Hows your hangover? Up n coming youngsters must be the way to go. Hudson would be ok as a squad player, though I remember Drury, what a nightmare!!!
Morning Ristac, sometimes its more about 11 players that can play well together who are more or less quite strong in their respective positions rather then 11 very strong individuals. With Cellino finding strength in all positions, hope the squad settles and clicks into gear
Morning all. Lewis cook pushing to start. Byram and Mowatt already in the starting squad. An improvement in the overall squad with a load of Italians. All coming together nicely. All we need now is for Hockmadoodlegandi to get them playing as one efficient unit. Will take time, but it's all starting to bubble up nicely. Mansfield on Tuesaday. Would quite like to see McDaid tart up front with Smith
Good morning Boggers I agree with you McDaid should be given a chance because Morison and Hunt just aren;t up to it they are both tarts
Morning all ... trust all is good on the health front leeds60 ... Hanley would be an excellent addition but can't see Rovers willing to sell unless the chicken farmers need the money, but would have thought they'd sacrifice Rhodes first ... Delort sounds promising, a goalscorer with lots still to prove ... Lewis Cook is quality, but shouldn't be rushed as we already broke Byram and Mowatt and don't need to break another young 'un ... Viviani from Roma sounds like exactly what we need in midfield, and thankfully Berardi has joined as it meant bye bye Blackman ... still need quite a few players though, and Cellino's "six to ten more signings" sounds about right, as long as they aren't all journeymen midfielders Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Good morning Billy so Hanley is good how much will he cost any idea and I have never looked better thank you I have a better tan than when I lived in Mallorca it must be the sun in Bardsey!
If Cellino is still planning to bring in a load more, he's really got a lot of dead wood to shift. Much as I want him to make it at Leeds, that dead wood might start to include the likes of Poleon and White. Neither has set the world alight. But maybe this is the rude awakening they both need.
I do remember us getting excited about Poleon and a couple of weeks later we all agreed he wasn't ready or good enough yet. Byram had a great season followed by an average one at best. Yes give Cook and McDaid a start in pre season and see how they go but we really should not get too excited about them or expect them to improve the squad vastly until we have seen what they can do against real competition, not teams 4 tiers lower than us. I wouldn't mind if we sent them out on loan to a lower division for the first few months of the season then bring them back and break them into the team slowly.
Did any of you read Dominic Matteo's article in the Sunday Mirror - Well worth a read and I think he is spot on this time
Morning all Bang on about introducing the youngsters slowly ristac, we can't risk breaking another one. A blend of youth and experience is exactly what we need, but the experience has to come from hungry mid to late 20's rather than 30+ journeymen who are playing for one last pay check. It sets the wrong motivating example for the younger players in the team (although they're probably already corrupted by the prima donna footballers constantly in the media). All I know about Hanley is on Football Manager 2012 he was always the first player I tried to grab on loan when starting my careers out at a Blue Square North/South side. Beast of a defender in that league who'd often get double figures goals from corners / free kicks. I imagine he's progressed a lot since then (Sorry for a minute I thought we still had owners who scouted on Football Manager...)
Spot on with what he said but the article title was a load of bullshit. which is exactly what he says. Does stink of sour grapes though as he never said anything about GFHs time
MTMB, given our now Italian influence, are you changing your name/strapline to read soething to do with Cellino & the Pope, or similar? Maybe something along the lines of Pope Cellino?
Sorry about that yeah, have a mental 2 days work today / tomorrow but I'll sort it on Wednesday for you. Remind me if I don't mention it though, memory like a sieve at the minute
