Morning Everyone, Leeds have been heavily linked to Scunthorpe's Sam Winnall. The 23 yo forward netted 23 times last year in league 1. Dave has been speaking to the YEP, and has told them that everybody in the squad starts with a clean slate. Dave, we have news for you, your slate is already tainted.Hope for your sake you can run with the mantle. LUFC have introduced a new junior season ticket for the under11's. The price of this is just £69 for the season. The equivalent of £3 per game. Thoughts? It has been virtually impossible to select the daily winning teams at the World Cup. Teams you expect to win at a canter are either struggling to find the net, grinding out goalless draws, or the underdog wins. I reckon it may be worth backing the underdog therefor if and when that team does win, the odds are great. Stephen Warnock, Aidy White or Charlie Taylor. Who, if any ofthem are good enough to start at left back this forthcoming season. Traditionally, we have always been strong in this position. I remember the likes of Peter Haddock, Tony Doreigo and Ian Harte to name just a few. Doreigo and Harte had brilliant free kicks as well.
This is going to take a lot of getting used to folks: last night I met some mates in Manchester for a few beers and a meal. We were in a hotel bar watching the Argentina game and my mates (Man Utd, Liverpool, Man City fans) were not watching the game or talking about Suarez, they were laughing like **** at Hockaday!!!! Who the **** is this guy, why him, what's your new owner playing at ....... So for our sakes we better hope for a good start to the campaign, otherwise we will have the piss taken out of us all season
Morning all. Because of who we are, we get linked with everyone thanks to agents trying to push their little starlets. Remember Billy Painter? He got plenty for Swindon one year and phark all for us. So if we are going for a L1 starlet, let's hope he can step up. On Hockadoodledoo, I really hope we have a decent season and he proves a lot of doubters wrong. Let's at least give him a chance. On LBs, not sure Taylor is quite ready yet. Send him out on loan to get game time and see how he does on his return. This is White's final chance. If Hockmadoodlegandie can't get him to use his pace and put in telling crosss at the end of it, we may as well say bye bye. Of the three of them, I think Warnock will start. Has Drury moved on by the way?
Peter haddock. There's a a name from the past... Always thought of him more as a centre half but could play both I think? Harte just lacked a yard of pace, well two yards if we're honest. Dorigo was class... Unlucky that psycho limited his caps.
Morning all. Not remotely interested in who we are linked with. Too much of that for too many seasons. I'm only interested in who signs. Have to say, Ive watched probably too much of this World Cup and theres been tons of great matches. I thought before it started, we might get a completely unfenced side winning it. I still believe so, someone like Chile maybe. As for sneering at Hockaday, time will tell. Hope he can get some football out of our lazy sods, starting today
Can't help hoping Hock starts well (well, obviously I want Leeds to start well) as given all the adverse comments - me included - would be good to see He looks like a monitor lizard in that zip up track suit though Pinch me, did someone above write 'this season is White's last chance' ? I thought was in 2013, 2012, 2011 and 2010 ? How many more?
That was me 2020, and as one of the more positive cup half full types on here, I do worry about White. Time for him to step up or move aside. Maybe a change of coach at ER is just the push he needs.
Morning Elland Since Sunday I've been laying teams not to win using betting exchange Betfair. Sunday I had £80 on Russia not to beat Belgium, on Tuesday £20 on Italy not to beat Uruguay, and yesterday £50 on Iran not to beat Bosnia, and £30 on Ecuador not to beat France, so I'm £185 up after 4 games. Bit nerve wracking though, if Ecuador had sneaked a win I'd have lost £156 just on that game
Hockaday will give it his all, he will install fresh tactics and hopefully become a breath of fresh air around the place, well we have nothing to loose as the last two did a good job in totally screwing it up, and brought dross into the place in which we have lost precious money we could well have done without. I spoke with my elder brother the other night who used to watch John Charles and he said " l remember a Don Revie turning up as player manager in the sixties, no track record in managing a team, what happened over the next two decades speaks for itself" lets wait and see, get behind the team show support to the new Manager.................MOT
Think White has had enough chances under enough coaches but of course if Hock can do what others could. Ot, wonderful, Boggers Can't see it though
the downside doha, is that unlike revie, hockaday does have a track record.... whichever, he may be a 'nobody' but he's our 'nobody' now and we have to give the guy a chance
your mates must be gentler than mine, i'm well used to getting stick.... 10 years of it... and i got no shortage of it in the 80's either!
Difference here is that Hockaday HAS got a track record in managing a team and that is what scares the hell out of a lot of people.
Shaks I was betting my winnings of £150 on France to win or draw against Ecuador to win £30, seemed like a sensible move to me
Good point shako. Neither do I. Did doc just fess up to being pally with the scum on a leeds forum? I think he did.
