Ladies and Gentlemen, it looks like we've got a winner!!!!

Anyone ever met a poor bookies?


I think we can assume that Reading Academy Manager Eamonn Dolan will be our next Manager.

So, what do we know about him?

He's 46, born in Galway, Ireland, during his younger days played league football with West Ham, Birmingham and Exeter City as well as a loan spell at Bristol City.

He won 5 under 21 caps with the Republic of Ireland.

He joined Exeter City as caretaker boss in 2002, stepped up in 2003, and left in 2004.

He has been at Reading since last year.


Cellino has sacked an Irishman from Reading, and is going to replace him with an Irish man from Reading.



We should hear about the winding up petition today.


Any thoughts anyone?
 
Morning, Dolan is a very highly respected coach at Reading and in football so it would seem. While he is not a name most fans would of wanted he could be the breath of fresh air the club needs.

He should be given a chance by us to see what he can do with the players Cellino provides him with. <ok>

Morning Elland and all. Great to see another irishman at Leeds. Our contribution down through the years has been immeasurable at the club
Giles, McPhail, Harte Kelly but in recent times the scintillating Keogh, Kelly and kente the best till last, hunt. Yep I'm all for this appointment. Bring it on, good times a coming. Guaranteed by Xmas you'll be alway waving Irish flags at Elland road

Would rather of had a big name manager but if Dolan does the job good for him. If he's used to working with young players then we know what direction we're going to take a la future signings.

Is it today that the announcement takes place?

At least it isn't Hockaday I think that would have been a disaster.

I would usually add a few obligatory racist anti-Irish comments at this point but just found out I have an Irish grandfather

I am expecting to be made an international any time now

I agree with bucks statement above
one as for vision, I expect he is just one of many who will discover irish parentage in the coming months if Dolan is a success. But welcome to our exclusive club anyway Vision

Morning Bucks, spend a couple of years at Exeter, left, then 10 years later went to Reading, but nothing inbetween!!!

No sure yet...

Morning Eire, lets keps fingers crossed
 
Dolan will be coming in as head coach not a manager, he is very highly regarded as a coach as well. Lets see what he can do before pulling the guy to pieces. He might just suprise some of our fans who seem to know better.
 
I can remember years ago the headlines in the papers were "Arsene who" when Arsenal employed him.

He has done done too bad since then. :emoticon-0105-wink:

Cant get excited about this appointment, but I'll back the man 100%. Anyway, its the Cellino show now so who knows how long he will last if he doesnt start on the front foot.

Lovely day down here, seems a shame to be in work :(
 
A little underwhelmed, but will give him a chance, but how things change at this club eh. One minute we are waving flags about a cash rich owner who's going to buy back the ground and Ta, pay off all the debts, pay off all the **** players and replace them with top draw players and of course bring in a Mancini .... Instead we get a bloke nobody has heard of and he'll paid in Euros, not pounds

Lets give the new man a chance what did Arsenal fans think when Wenger was appointed and he hasn't done to bad
The court hearing has been rearranged for today I still think it will be adjourned pending the outcome in Dubai
Lets hope the new coach brings some good prospects with him
 
if we go the Dolan route I hope he's from the same cloth as Brendan Rodgers

I can't believe how many people stuck by Mcdermott if Warnock had used the tactics Brian did he would have been dragged outta elland road by the fans
