    Morning Everyone,

McDermott has been kissing up to Cellino again. In his latest brown nosing McDermott states that life under Cellino will never be boring, and goes on to say that he Cellino is a strong man, light at the end of the tunnel bla bla.

Bradford have extended the loan of Adam Drury. It never worked out for Drury at Elland Road, though it should have done. If you look at players likwe Harte, he is still doing a great job for Bournemouth at the age of 63, (37 this year) so why can't we get players a lot younger than him like Drury, Tonge, Diouf or Hunt who have had a similar or better pedigree to play half as well?

It seems, when certain players come to ER, they lose their confidence, their heads go down, they don't put in the effort and they end up rotting on the bench until their contracts expire. I don't think I would put Brown in that category. Though 37, he keeps himself in fantastic shape, and although a little reckless with his tackles at times has probably been one of our more consistent players this season.

Does Brown deserve a years extension to his contract?

This is the bottom of the Premier league table as it stands

Morning all. I must admit, I'd like to see Norwich go down for obvious reasons. I suppose our journeymen don't work out is we never seem to be competing with anyone for a signing. Mainly bottom of barrel jobs till now, players nobody else want, hence we can't shift any of them later on. I don't think it's a coincidence. Would be refreshing to get some players with proper ability at right end of careers. I can always dream I suppose

Perhaps those players are already on their way out and thats how we manage to get them on the cheap?

Norwich, Cardiff and Swansea. No place for taffy teams in the english leagues and Norwich for obvious reasons.

    Mornin all.

Good morning, the sun is shining in Hampshire and my wife is thinking of all those outside jobs I have avoided during the winter

Prem relegation? I'd like Norwich - relatives from there, not because of the ex Leeds players, and Cardiff - don't like em for some reason

Agree on Brown. If he can keep it up for another year why not extend

Hartes game has never been about pace so hasn't got any worse so to speak.

Brown just cannot get another year, it will show our ambitions if he does.

Relegated clubs :- Cardiff then I really couldn't care about the rest.

As for Brown let's just get rid of him, don't really want him at the club for another year

Morning all. On relegation, I'd like to see Sunderland, Norwich, and Cardiff go down. Means I'll get to the Norwich game, stay with my Mother in Law, and go boozing in some decent Norfook'n pubs.

On older players, some just can't cope with the pressure of playing for Leeds in front of 25 to 30k + of vociferous fans. Tough really. And as one of his keenest supporters, I'd love it (not in a keegonesque way you understand) if we kept Brown for another season. If we go for someone younger, he'll have to be at least as fit as Brown (no mean achievement in itself) and be prepared to get his toe in & do the hard yards for little or no reward.

Wolves, you're entitled to your opinion mate, but who would you buy & put in his place?

I suspect he is likely one of our higher earners. No way Cellino will be paying top wages to a 38 year old

Morning MTMB. In theory, I would agree with you. The problem is, replacing Brown with a younger model who will be around long enough to have an impact in the PL isn't as easy as it should be. Ask the sc&m about whether or not Ryan Giggs has been fully replaced yet. At least his job s a glamorous one. Who notices the work the Brown, and previously Doyle, do for the team?

I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this one. But your point is well made, and much will depend on Cellino's scouting network. Maybe we'll get an uncompromising 20 something Italian instead.

I notice the work Brown does and appreciate it but he needs replacing.

Poyets lad from Charlton (on loan from Chelsea) same type of player but absolutely ran the show won the ball deep distributed it well and won fouls out of frustraton from our midfielders.

    I'd go for him

The games changed so much since Browneh learnt his trade, theres no place for hatchet men anymore. A tough mobile box to box midfielder is required to play next to Murphy and Murphy needs the licence to push on past the strikers when we are going for it. Anyone who smiles when they give away a freekick at ER that leads to a last minute winner for the opposition and cant handle a bit of banter from the fans has clearly outstayed his welcome. He's far to old to be given another season or it smacks of Desperateness if he is given an extension as he shouldnt be playing two games a week. New blood in the CM position is a must.

    Morning all <ok>

Norwich Cardiff and Swansea to go down.

If Brown had played the number of games Austin has this season we'd have a few more points on the board. When Brown plays it allows Murphy more freedom to attack. Another incomprehensible mistake by McDermott for not seeing it sooner.

Now that he's been demoted to Gibbs assistant hopefully we'll see improved performances/tactics/team selection for the last four games of the season

Good morning from a sunny Bardsey Norwich always seemed a fine family club to me I remember in the 50s or 60s when they had that amazing cup run when they were in the third division south cant for the life in me remember the goal scorers name but later on they had another hero in Terry Bly .I think that Sunderland Cardiff and Norwich will be relegated and replaced by Wigan Leicester and Burnley this will leave QPR in a very bad spot losing millions in their quest for promotion how good is Rednapp now .QPR may implode and do a Leeds

If Poyet is a hard takling DM, then at 20 not very much, he is the DM we want. I take the point on there no longer being hatchet midfielders. But a DM that gets his toe in and then farms the ball out to the Murpys of this world is still worth his weight in gold.

Forza, I think the problem with Austin is that he's neither one thing nor the other. He is a box to box midfielder. But his distribution isn't as good as it could be. So he's not our best AM. As he's a box to box CM, he's not always around to just break up an attack by sitting on the halfway line as Brown does. So he's not our best DM.

When he learns to improve his distribution and improves his positional play, he'll be ideal. In the meantime, he remains a work in progress.
