Good Morning Everyone, Just when you thought we were rid of David Haigh We're not!!! You'll recall Cellino's interview on Sunday, he claimed “David has to go. I have had too much of him". Haigh is insisting that there was a contract between GFH and Eleonor Sports guaranteeing him the role of Chief Executive at Leeds Utd. On the field things just get worse!!! After the 3-0 defeat McDermott said "Of course I'm under pressure - results suggest that," "It depends who wants to be here next season because this guy's got a lot of clout and he'll have watched that tonight and been bitterly disappointed as well. "I'm not in a strong position now because of the results we've had over a period of time. "I met him before the game. We just talked about football, he's not looking to give me any assurances. I wouldn't expect any."
Morning Elland. I wa at VR last night. The gallows humour was in full flow, about the only thing that was. 3 poor goals & BMD likely to be on his way soon. After Brown got flattened, there were loud choruses of Brownie's gonna get ya. But the game and our performance was summed up by Brownie putting in a shift, but not flattening anyone. Heyho, we move on to Saturday. Let's hope we can start scoring and playing again. This is all too depresssing for words. On Haigh, couldn't give a toss. One thing's for sure, if there's a decision to be made on anything from BMD's future to the tea lady's new outfit, u no hoo will be making that decision, & it ain't gonna be Haigh!!!
On the assumption that BMD's days are more than just numbered, will Cellino replace him before the end of the season with a new Manager or will Redfearn fill in until Cellino has taken some time to bring in his man (whoever that might be)? I hope he brings in Malky Mackay now so that he can look at the squad, decide who will stay and who can go, and bring in the required players when the TW opens on 1 July.
Malky Mackay plays similar style of football to Brian. MC will bring in a first team coach as well so Malky would not fit that bill.
Morning all. Ive made my feelings well known since Xmas on how I feel about the playing staff and manager. It doesn't need repeating. Suffice to say, I won't have an ounce of sympathy as each one is shipped out. Im just thankful today, we have an owner with the resources, and football knowledge, to take the required action. As for signing British players, Im not so sure. Something stinks with the attitude. Maybe time has come for a foreign manager with a knowledge of Championship football and an influx of good, hungry young foreign footballers who will want to play in front of 30k fans for 5k a week. Ive had my bellyful of the Dioufs, Browns and Hunts of this world. Robbing bastards masquerading as Leeds footballers
Eire, time to leave off Brown. He was one reason why yesterday was only 3-0. Without him harrying and hasselling their midfield or breaking up attacks, things could have been an awful lot worse. Mowatt and one or two others could learn a lot from Brown. He maybe coming to the end of his career and may only get another year's contract at Leeds. But unlike some in the team, he is worth the money we pay him. At least he puts in a shift.
Point taken Boggers, but he's costing a fortune for playing probably less than half the games in the season. I dont know exact stats. In my books, unless he accepts a substantial pay cut in summer he's a luxury we can't afford. A question for you Boggers, would he look as good in a side in the top two where Cellino wants us to be within two years. Would he get into one of those sides at all? Remember its easy looking half decent in a Leeds shirt these days. You were there, so I bow to your opinion, mine is based on a few live tv games which dont tell the whole story
You make your point well Eire. If Cellino or our new Manager finds a midfield enforcer (the Makalele role), Brown will retire or be moved on. He's only worth his place in the side because Tonge and Austin aren't fully up to his mark yet. Austin will get there and Tonge will no doubt be moved on in the "night of the long concrete overcoats" that will follow soon. Worryingly, neither Mowatt nor Murphy, both naturally much more talented than Brown, have yet to put in the shift in CM we require. Indeed someone on the train last night reckoned Mowatt was carrying too much weight and was blowing too hard for a kid his age who should be very fit. I think both will come good next season and I'd like to see Dawson given a chance now that top 6 has gone.
Good morning from a dull Bardsey. Saw MC being interviewed last night and was extremely impressed with his demeanour .He didn't get where he has being daft so I would think he will try and persuade BM to take a lower severance pay or leave him to the fans! I do hope whoever we get to replace him that they put more emphasis on young talented players such as Guedetti from City young 21 and talented we don't need players over 30 anymore let others have them others in the frame Jamie Murphy of the blades young Winnall at Scunthorpe Hitchcock at Rotherham seemed to have what it takes going on the three goals he scored on Saturday The new manager should have experience of managing a big cluband playing for one I have always thought BM was out of his depth at Leeds managers in the frame Laudrop Zola and DI MATEO BUT NOT TOO happy about the Chelsea influence
We certainly shouldn't get hung up on who any new Manager has manged in the past. It's what they do now with us that should matter. The way he built them up, I'd even settle for old red nose (yes, okay I'll go and wash my mouth out!!!)
Morning all Another shocking defeat which takes us to 5 in a row. Without all of the ownership issues no way BMD would still be in a job this morning. As for Brown I get what you're saying Boggers but I agree with Eire. We are likely paying Brown far too much week to week for the amount of games he actually plays. I think if he is here next season then we should have him on pay as you play, but if we are pinning our hopes on Michael Brown next season, we haven't made the progress or shown the intent that I am expecting over summer.
