    Good Morning Everybody

Phil Hay tweeted that the communication between Peacock-Farrell and his defence ‘didn’t seem to be right’ in the 2-1 win over Wigan on Sunday.

He pointed the finger at the Young Northern Ireland goal keeper for being at fault early on, seemingly standing in the wrong position for a free-kick which Wigan scored in the opening period/

Some Leeds fans were asking Hay whether he thought Marcelo Bielsa would drop him.

He said no but did add that “it was noticeable… that the defence were chirping at him a fair amount”.

Is it time to replace BPF with Blackman?

Not if yesterday's U23 result has anything to do with it.

Although Blackman made a series of finer saves, Leeds, with the likes of Blackman, Baker, Harrison, Shaughnessy, Roberts and Saiz were destroyed by Crewe's U23's 3-1.

By all accounts Saiz could not cope with the physical game.

Also, it's a good thing we're not paying the £100,000 a week wage bill for trio of loanee's - well I hope not anyway!!!!

    Morning Matt and all

If the defence have a problem with BPF, I'm sure Jansson will let Biesla know, problem being, I'm not sure Blackman is any better, if infact there is a problem.

The 3 loanees have been disappointing, yet they were all highly rated before we took them, is it they just can't adapt to Bieslaball.

I'd imagine Saiz isn't happy playing for the U23's, so has no heart for it.

    Morning all...

I was excited by the loan of Harrison but always had doubts on the other two, Harrison is okay but I’d now prefer to see one of our U23s used as cover. I’d also imagine if you throw Izzy Brown into that wage bill it would sky rocket further.

What has happened to the football world if those three are getting that much between them a week, it’s absolute nonsense. No idea what Baker is on but he is not better than Klich, Phillips, Forshaw or Pablo and never will be.

I posed the question in another thread, is it time to cash in on Saiz as long as the funds are used to secure a Bielsa target and assuming Bielsa is in agreement?

Good Morning to Matt Rik and co from a dull Bardsey
Interesting about the loanees can we send them back I wonder because we need a striker a winger and a CBHarrison is not that good Baker will not get in the team and Blackman is no better than BPF
BPF is a young keeper and will make mistakes so I would look at Heaton of Burnley
Saiz how much would he bring 8m?

    Morning all <ok>

I watched the U23s and Blackman was MOM for me in a bad team performance, which started with Nessy not being good enough for the 23s in my opinion yet I see an article today saying his time is now to shine, well it wont happen. Blackman for me over BPF but we need to be guided by Bielsa.

Harrison was the best out player on the park yesterday and he was brought off at half time, I suspect to save him for the weekend. Saiz was dire, baker and Roberts not interested, sad to say it.

    Morning all.

The problem with BPF is do you keep playing him in the hope he is still learning or drop him and destroy his confidence? Personally I would keep him in the side as I think he is better than Blackman and will keep getting better. There seems to be a pattern with him where he has a bad game and everyone gets on at him and in the next game he plays brilliantly. Hopefully this will happen for the WBA game.

I have raised the question in conversation with a mate- how many sides in recent years have battled for the title with a 21 year old goalkeeper? Very brave on Leeds part.

    Good morning all
Been a while had PC problems.
Sad to read reports of some players disinterest in the U23's,surely they see playing for them is a big stepping stone to the first team,I hope Bielsa reads the riot act to some of them,or tell them to go and play for some league one or two club,Because leeds united don't want any passengers once were in the premier league.it needs all concerned with the club to push in the same direction to achieve this.
Been saying for a while now about the goalkeeping situation,Blackman is no better than BPF,BPF in my opinion will become a great keeper some day,but at this moment in time needs to be the understudy to a more experienced keeper, water under the bridge i know, but boy i think we would be much more settled at the back and few points better off if we still had Rob Green.

I think the communication is something that needs work. You have two strong personalities in Jansen and cooper and a young keeper, maybe he needs to assert himself more? He’s from the chilled out school of keepers, not a Peter schmeical.

Pontus was screaming at him on sat for not coming for a through ball, he may have been right but cooper had switched off without getting a call, so didn’t help matters as he did have it covered. Defensive mix ups on those type of balls happen, keepers have to be 100% sure they’re going to get there, or it’s safer to stay put. I guess it’s also possible that having come off his line last year against wolves when he should have stayed out, that he’s wary of doing so. Hey, i’m Guessing.

Fans love Pontus because he wears his heart on his sleeve, but he doesnt top any dressing room popularity contests, and frankly i’m Not sure bawling out team mates is great for this wonderful team spirit we hear about, and isn’t going to help confidence.

Also it needs to be put in context... we won on Saturday from a defensive mix up and keeper error. How many goals have we conceded from a defensive communication mix up?

Morning all. If the club executive had followed the advice offered on this board we would have a playing staff of upwards of 500, but I doubt we would be topping the league.

It’s a fair point southern. I really liked green as a keeper. Confident, decent shot stopper, classic ‘safe pair of hands’. Yet had a few howlers early in the season where people wanted him dropped.

However, I very much doubts bielsa would play him. He’s an old fashioned keeper and couldn’t/wouldn’t play bielsa ball. He may have saved some bpf hasn’t, but we wouldn’t be able to play as we have, so who knows how fewer goals we’d have scored and how many more chances the opposition would have had. I genuinely have no idea as to the answer to that by the way!

Now I like keepers who give confidence and command their box, but it’s 2018. Bpf is in the side primarily I believe because his distribution is excellent, and people shouldn’t underestimate how critical that is to how we play. It’s also high pressure... being instructed to play short whenever you can when you’re the last man and a cock up probably means a goal and ridicule.

I was having a bit of a discussion yesterday about the goalkeeper situation with a bloke who argued that BPF hasn't conceded from open play this season? I think he may be correct as he gets beaten from set pieces every time, but if that stat is correct its the reason Bielsa plays him?

Off the top of my head, Swansea’s 1st, both Birmingham goals, Sheffield wed. Got his hand to one ‘might’ have saved it, should have saved the first brum goal. Maybe could have saved the second. And naturally Leeds Lover thinks he should have saved reach’s effort.

Mainly set pieces though. None of the ones from corners are down to him, despite what LL tries to convince people... he might post another keeper training video to prove my point again:biggrin:.

As for his positioning yesterday, some think it was wrong some don’t. I’m waiting for an explanation as to why bother with a wall if you want your keeper standing in the middle of the goal. I’m looking forward to the replies but haven’t had any yet.

The goalkeeper should be positioned so if a ball is knocked over the wall, without much pace,he can get across and save it,no keeper would get across for a hard hit shot over the wall, but Sundays wasn't a hard hit shot.:emoticon-0148-yes:

Good point about walls,i seem to remember a discussion on match of the day, about do teams realy need to put up a wall,as how many keepers would get beaton from a fifteen/twenty or more yard penalty,if they had direct site of the ball, with it being kicked from a dead ball situation ?

Thing with football is, when you score a goal, it’s all about ‘great pass, fine finish’. The opposition fans are saying ‘poor marking, keeper might have done better’.

We have the second best defensive record in the league, despite being an attacking side... but every goal’s a fcking inquest!!

    Good morning Matt & everyone

"Chirping".........Pontus really laid into BPF verbally & rightly so when he hesitated & didn't come to clear his line when it was claerly his ball, could have been a real calamity
