Morning troops. Good win today, & Morison scored again. Maybe he'll be retained afterall. The fans reaction suggests that he works hard & people appreciate his effort. Now that he's scoring again, maybe in this formation, he can continue to show why we got him in the first place
Thinking that myself Boggers. Likely of course with a new coach, formation will be changed and foreigners will be back in favour. He's probably worth a few quid now so Cellino can off load him given the huge wage he was on
As we think about summer hols & the off season, I really hope someone advises Cellino to leave Redfearn in charge, return most of the imports back to serie B, & bring in a few decent additions. Such an approach will give us the stability we need. Redders does have the capacity to lead us back to the PL. What he needs is a knowledgeable assistant & 2 or 3 quality additions. On quality additions, I'd bring in Craig Mackail-Smith amongst others.
No, I'm with Boggers here, about time we tried a bit of continuity instead of starting from scratch every year - hasn't exactly worked too well over the past 10 years, has it? Keep Redfern and the kids, invest a bit to build on what we've got and set a clear target of the playoffs minimum. Then if he doesn't achieve it, offski.
Thank feck it ain't going to happen. If we had progressed 1" I might agree, but given the **** we are watching week in and week out I completely disagree. That's before you look at all the **** Redfearn has contributed to. Cellino is the biggest problem but the Dewsbury duffer won't take us anywhere ever.
Indeed. And I know it's easier to predict failure than success given only three teams go up. But for whatever reason I currently have no hope of us getting better.
Good post Boggers but there is one flaw in that plan, the advising Cellino bit. I dont think hes the type to listen to anyone and will do things his way.
Boggers, we are 22 points off the playoff places, I don't think this squad is good enough to make that up in one season, I don't think the youngsters are ready for that so I think we need more than 2 or 3 additions.
I don't think Redders is the man to get us promoted but it's Cellino's trigger happy approach that worries me. I have no doubt in my mind that Redders' mandate on taking the job was simply: don't get us relegated. Assuming I'm correct in saying that, Redders has done his job against a backdrop of financial difficulties, off-the-field uncertainties and with the hinderance of a poor quality, unbalanced squad. I'm not saying he did an incredible job and deserves a ten year contract, and I'm well aware that we didn't play great football at any point under his stewardship, but it does concern me that he did exactly what was required (well in advance, mind you) despite the constant attempts to undermine his authority and his position and yet will lose his job. It's not that I'm concerned about losing Redders - I think he gets a lot of unfair abuse but he has got a hell of a lot to learn about management - I'm concerned about the precedent it sets.
As anyone who has been to ER this year will confirm. The kop have been disillusioned into near enough complete silence. Not joking!
Fair point LoL. But where would we have been had we not wasted the first couple of months with Hockmadoodlegandi & Milanic?
You do remember we just ended a run of six straight defeats? Not forgetting that when we had our golden period we were outplayed in six of the seven games. I know it is sometimes said its better to be lucky than good, but over a season that's not true.
