Thanks for posting this, I'm sure everyone would agree that we will never tire of seeing this. U RRRRRss!
I'm not sure, but I'm guessing it might be Chiswick/Richmond way as Austin, Barton and Hoilett live there. Does anyone know what they're singing?
Cheers Strolls, I thought I'd heard it before but to be fair it was at school and had different lyrics.
Yes, the version we sang at school was a bit different, but a similar version to this one used to be sung at the Spotted Dog in Neasden years ago.
King ell we've turned into a rugby club. As Barton and Traore don't drink they must have been very buzzed from the game still.
That's probably down to Barton, he loves his rugby. I thought the same thing regarding Barton and Traore. They were certainly going for it considering they don't drink.
With a foot in both camps (well more like a leg in the association football camp) I've always been interested in the contrast in drinking styles between rugby and football. In rugby there's a lot of competitive drinking, drinking songs, drinking games, mixing drinks, spiking drinks, who can drink the most the fastest and try to bobsleigh down the stairs on a tray and so on. And consequently a lot of throwing up. Next day everybody boasts about their immense hangovers. It's quite fun when you're young, but now I prefer the football approach, which is just attritional drinking over long periods with a bunch of mates, no pressure to drink fast or at the same speed, skip a round if you want, lots of story telling, reminiscing and laughs. The next day you just start again, quietly, nursing your liver into life.
