It's looking very likely it will be 3 from the current bottom 6 to go down so I think a thread focusing on these teams would be good (I can always add/subtract teams if required). This is the current state of the bottom 6: The next 6 fixtures for each team: Leicester: Man United (A) Chelsea (H) Brentford (A) West Ham (H) Brighton (H) Newcastle (A) Everton: West Ham (A) Brentford (H) Man United (A) WOLVES (H) Liverpool (H) Arsenal (A) Crystal Palace: Fulham (H) Aston Villa (A) Newcastle (H) IPSWICH (A) Man City (H) Brighton (A) Ipswich: Spurs (A) Man United (H) Notts Forest (A) CRYSTAL PALACE (H) WOLVES (A) Newcastle (H) Saints: WOLVES (A) Liverpool (H) Brighton (A) Chelsea (H) Aston Villa (A) Spurs (H) Wolves: SAINTS (H) Fulham (A) Bournemouth (H) EVERTON (A) West Ham (A) IPSWICH (H) Clearly, the team with the biggest opportunity is Wolves with 3 games against fellow bottom 6 teams with 3 other games that are tricky, but not daunting on paper. We have the hardest schedule here, but we're not alone in having tough games coming up. Leicester have a tricky run of games, Everton have to go to Man United with a new manager in charge, plus a trip to Arsenal and Liverpool at home. Palace have City, Brighton, Villa and Newcastle to play. In short, still a long way to go. I think it's very feasible that the required points to stay up could be very low (34-35 mark).
Us and Leicester will be happy with any points gained from those fixtures in all honesty and Palace not far behind, but then again having followed football as long as I have this is where Saints probably win three games. It wouldn't be the first time.
Draw at Wolves and somehow at Brighton. Beat Tottenham at home. That would be a great set of results.
I still think it's us, Ipswich and Leicester. Just Leicester will make more of a fight of it whilst us and Ipswich will just be trying to be the least worst.
I'm not an overly optimistic chap when it comes to Saints, stating the obvious from my comments I know, and I think Saints are probably already down but you never know. Some really weird things happen. I mean it is looking like dull neverending passing about whilst losing week and after week but there is always a tiny glimmer and a chance until that is gone. That's what we have to hold on to.
I really loathe Leicester, there is every possibility that they could pick up just a point in that run. We really need at least 10 points from our next 6, but that is not likely
I am gonna be optimistic and say we are gonna stay up. Amazing what a win can do. (Finally got to watch match of the day) think it will be tight but as Tom has shown, we are not alone in having a terrible start. We seem to play better against the top teams who think they don't need to press and our possession style works better in those games.
