I think our club is heading in the right direction although wrong decisions have been made.... Five Pillars established - Community Engagement - Academy and Youth Development - Player Recruitment and Talent Identification - Financial Prudence and Control - Facilities... New stadium planning permission for Ashton Gate and Ashton Vale achieved (subject to JR @ Ashton Vale) in other words plan A or plan B.. New manager appointed.. I think a lot of progress has been made and lessons learned in recent times and I'm happy to support all facets of our club and I just want to get back to cheering and supporting my club......
Wrong decisions being made is the understatement of all time Wiz Shying away from the media and not sitting next to him when a new manager is being unveiled is also really bizarre behaviour Offering a new man a 3.5 year contract shows that the board have learned nothing from all of the mistakes since the mid 2000's. I am totally and utterly against the owner and his son now, and also the faceless, clueless, spineless other board members
Nearly right Angelic, except that its a classic mistake from the 70s when we signed up all our players on long expensive contracts after we lost our bright young centre half to Coventry, and spent a decade trying to recover Maybe we should sign some classy board members from a Manchester club or something In fact even Oldham would be an improvement on what we have here
This board have a lot to answer for,we are in the biggest debt this club has ever had in its history. They have not done a good job at all, sorry guys
glad someone re iterates my point...3.5 years contract, makes you wonder who put the idea of the rolling contract! board is like the Avon tide at ASHTON............. IN OUT LEAVES A LOAD OF SH****TE ABOUT
the hospital at Barrow is closed but there is another one in Brislington ...A COUPLE SEASONS IN THERE and it will give us a chance to get into the prem
We are where we are. We can talk all day about whose fault it was - I'm more interested in how we fix it The 5 pillars plan had merit and still does - just maybe did too much too soon
With a fixed term contract you negotiate a termination clause, something like 6 months money if the person leaves. On both sides (so if someone else wants him, they have to pay the break clause. With a 12 month rolling contract, the term is always 12 months. So a 3.5 year contract is actually a better deal for the management of Bristol City. SoD was clever in negotiating such a good deal and I am actually more impressed that we have gone back to the better way of putting a contract together.
