We're all looking at the teams around us at the pointy end of the table for obvious reasons, but what about the blunt end? Like a bit of an obscure punt sometimes other than on City and had a look at the Championship relegation zone.

The three obvious candidates are all at odds on to go down - Sunderland, Burton and Brum - not worth taking a chance for the meagre return, so had a look at the remaining fixtures of the others just outside the trap door spot.

Blimey, I reckon Reading are in real danger of dropping. They've got some tough fixtures and we've got them at home last game of the season. I still remember them knocking us out of the playoffs a few years back so perhaps the boot will be on the other foot this time eh?

Taken a punt and stuck a tenner @ 10/1 on them going down - is it a bit mean hoping some goes down?

Reading have a 6 point start, sorry Sparky but I can't see any of the bottom 3 making that up.

Reading have only made 3 points in the last 5 games but that is still more than Sunderland 2 points and Brum 0 points.
Burton have made 4 points in the last 5 and with a far worst goal difference they will need to get 7 more points than Reading in the last 9 games, I doubt they will get 7 even if Reading lose every game.

I can’t see beyond Burton, Sunderland and Barnsley or Bham. Haven’t studied their fixtures though.

Hopefully any teams we’re due to play will be safe and can take their foot off the gas but Hull’s upsurge is worrying and seems down to the return of Hernandez.

Our away games against them & Norwich are going to be difficult to predict.

    We'll see eh DJ?

Put it this way, if it was going to that bad for at least one of the bottom three to have a run, then the odds on Reading wouldn't be 10/1. <ok>

Not to mention Villa and Sheffield United. <yikes>

I wouldn't be unhappy at Reading taking a dive - as Sparks said, if only for stuffing us at home in the play offs a few years ago - after we got a creditable o - 0 at their place. Burton and Sunderland are dead and buried in my views. What a poisoned chalice for Coleman. He could be on his way for a nice little jaunt to China if he had stayed on.

I know we have jaundiced views of Monk but I think he could organise Birmingham sufficiently to get them out of the soft and smellies

Hmmm....I thought I'd just mention this. With Brum and Bolton winning yesterday, Reading's relegation odds have been cut from 10/1 to 6/1 this morning.

Maybe still a long shot with Burton and Sunderland struggling, but Barnsley have more grit than Reading. Now if Monk gets Brum going..........<whistle>

    Worth a punt though!

Depends on who they helicopter in. Most of the escapologists are in contract aren't they?

Suppose he escaped with the swans last year. A bit more time then, but deeper in the mire.

Your tenner could be safe after all Sparks.

Gonna watch this one Dai - this morning that tenner is currently worth £12.23 cashout and the odds on them going down have halved from 10/1 to only 5/1 now.

Let's see what happens when they announce the new manager.
