Without a win in 7 and having drawn their last 4 games, City continue the long search for a win under Slade at the DW Stadium against former manager McKay. Hardly having a great time since his potentially costly sacking at Cardiff, Malky has not been able to perform the same feats he did with us and his Latics side are 5 points away from safety. Despite beating Reading a thee nil stuffing by Charlton has followed and it will take all of the ability that Jermaine Pennant, Don Cowie and Andrew Taylor have. They probably fancy the 3 points on Tuesday night though, the run that we're on. Finally a big 4 points for Masky see him clear of the drop zone and away to the relative safety of 9th. What relegation fears? This is bad news for The Exile and ccfcremotesupport as they both take a step closer to Division 2. A reshuffle at the top as Welshman makes his charge for the Top Four, claiming the final position off myself. Bfb edges a point clear of GLAM in their clash for the title. In Div 2, Bluescull is doing his best to secure the final playoff position but has unwelcome company in the form of Danablu and Sparkey, 2 points behind him.
"Unwelcome company in the form of Sparkey?" Bit harsh that Blue! Kimbo left City, a dysfunctional outfit for glamorous Wigan...ha, ha chump. Got to be due a win, how about a 2-1 success with Whittingham getting on the scoresheet. Slade has perhaps steadied the ship now, and I think we are on the up!
Wigan on a very poor run (the win last week at Reading excepted). Everything that could go wrong for them went wrong at the weekend with 2 new loanees going off injured and probably out against us. Malky, Don (not in squad Saturday), Tayls and Kimbo will be up for it. However, if the slightest thing goes against them their heads will go down and they will roll over. Ref is Andy Woolmer. 8 Championship games out of 24 matches this season. Did our home game v. Leeds. I have a good feeling about this one. 2 - 0 to City and Doyle has to break his duck soon so he will notch. Thanks Sheep.
Looks like a pitch made for KWJ. As Eddie Waring used to say "Up and under!!!!" http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/wigan-v-cardiff-city-take-8699235
Pretty sure they've only played two rugby games on it as well. Admittedly the CCS pitch got a lot worse when the Blues played on it. Wigan haven't won at home under McKay. Stars aligning at the DW? (In Wigan's favor?)
My form in this prediction league has dropped alarmingly over the last couple of months...mainly because of my stubbornness in predicting a negative result for the Bluebirds. Ah well onwards and upwards..... CCFC to win 1-0 (S. Morrison). Cheers Mr Sheep.
Hey whiff - can't believe you predicted Malky to lose a game against us - I thought he was the best thing since sliced bread... Since he's been up in Hovis country, he's really struggled to pull his team together on the pitch - in fact his tenure has been something of a disaster for them. I think they sacked a better manager in Rosler. No doubt Malky's constant moaning at his injury problems combined with the transfer outs in January carry some weight, but he isn't the Messiah Whelan hoped for. On the other hand and just because I still think he's a better manager than Slade (is there a worse one?) I'm going to go for a Malky win. Wigan 2 - 0 City please Sheepy, and I just hope Whiff is right on this one unless it means Slade gets the boot.
Malky....Do The Ayatollah!!! I'm afraid I like my sliced bread a bit too much. I'd choose CCFC over Malky any time of the day, though. Still think he was the best manager we've ever had, who was shafted by a ungrateful, jealous, vindictive a*****e. Also convinced that had Tan not started playing silly buggers (starting prior to the Newcastle away game I think, when he refused to pay the players' bonuses), then we'd still be playing derby games against the Jacks' in the PL. Not wishing to open up this debate, again, but that is my opinion.
That's fine whiff - opinions are just that - opinions. Anyway, Sheepy's (or should I say Blue Prophet's) prediction League isn't the right place to debate the subject though no doubt it'll arise again in one form or another. Malky is history whether anyone likes it or not - let's just hope Slade is also before long, but for the right reason this time.
