Not the result many of us predicted but at least we avoided an opening day defeat, something that our next opponents endured when they traveled to The Valley last Saturday. A couple of yo yo seasons for QPR have resulted in several relegation's, promotions and a final day survival but once again find themselves back in the 2nd tier, with a large squad and a FFP threat that seems to have vanished (for now?). Can City take advantage of Rangers bad start or will we be downed by JET? A surprising start in Division II after Sparks stunned the rest of the league with a opening day CS. I tried but unfortunately cant find the last time Sparky was top... After a similar start last season Whiffletree lead the Division for the rest of the season - can Sparks also repeat this feat?
Sheepy - I've finally worked out that winning this bloody league is about using your head not your heart. So I'm going to continue the morbid theme until something happens at the club that makes me change my mind about the current setup. Gimme a 2-1 result to QPR with Rallsy getting our goal.
I would love to see us win but haven't noted anything yet to say we are going to set the division alight. Similarly QPR got tanned at Charlton so they will be keen to put things right on their home turf. Loftus Road is rarely a happy hunting ground for us (6 wins in 55 years - 4 of which were in the last 15 years) although I was there in 1970 when a Leighton Phillips screamer won us the game. While our signings have been a grand total of 3 including a former loanee who has not played competitively for us, another loanee and a trialist for the Development squad, they have signed 9. A bit of a mixed bag while (as I type this) still having Matt Phillips and Charlie Austin on their books. If they gel they could be a force this season and their signings from Swindon, Gladwin and Luongo will be keen to take the step up. In all honesty I can't see us winning so will settle for a 1 - 1 draw with Mason to open his league account for us. Thanks Sheep.
New ground for me - never been to QPR before. I'm going for a 1 - 1 draw with Ralls to score for City Cheers Mr Sheep
I haven't got a clue! Guided by the posts on the message board and the few highlights I have seen... Hmm, heart ruling head and going against all printed reports a bluebirds win for me. QPR 1 Bluebirds 3 Mason, Whitts & Jones I hope the pixies of luck shine on me.
spotted that. him and danablu They must be poor at predicting though, because even after 3 games they still don't have a point between them.
