It seems that this season is going to end in disappointment then. Unless.... Nah, I'm not even going to think about us getting past a Toon side on a slide of 6 defeats on the trot. Their bound to get something out of us, surely? But there will be no pressure on the City side (like against the saints) after been taking to the chopping board by their Wearside cousins. Anyway on to happier things - BluefromBridgend is the 2014 First Division Champion After picking up a point from Sunday's massacre Bfb moves 7 points clear at the top with two games to go and cannot be caught* Nobody has been able to cope with Blue this season moving from the backwater of Division 2 to top of the league in 10 short months. Ironically, he also has the chance to win the league by the biggest margin ever yet also have the lowest winning points total. Super Fact. In the rest of the league - Sheep can confirm the Runner Up spot by outscoring Masky The Battle for Fourth looks like it will go to the final day with ccfcremotesupport and Jonah only separated by a point. Blueturk the Cat can confirm his automatic spot by outscoring Ninian Opinion. The same applies for Welshman. He can confirm the 2nd Division title by outscoring Welshman by 2 points. Ninian Opinion, Bluescull and Sayer can all confirm playoff spots by outscoring Musty Musty is only a point behind GhostofNinian with 2 games left in the race for the final spot. Hampshire can also claim the final spot by outscoring the previous two. Good Luck
Bluesheep, would not two perfect situation predictions be enough to destroy the boy wonder? What about a double points thingy?
Indeed Masky that would do Bfb in as the asterisk was meant to indicate but I forgot it. However, I feel that there is more chance of City staying up than either of us bagging two exact scores on the head Clutching at straws.....
2 1 to us........campbell and caulker. I've given up on premiership but can't give up by predicting a loss
Congratulations BluefromBridgend. Wish I could say the same about our team. Back to the Championship for us now. 1-1 please Sheepy with our goal from Mutch.
"the boy wonder" Masky you say the nicest things. No one has called me that for many years. Anyway, coming top in this is no compensation for our dismal season. And it's not won yet as Masky pointed out. With that in mind, I feel we are due for something positive to happen. If any team are more down in the dumps than us it is Newcastle, so contrary to recent predictions I think we could nick a 2 - 1 win there. Campbell and Bellers to notch and set everything up for a season crunching finale v. Chelski.
I know it's a prediction league thread, but as a Toon fan, I'd like to know your actual thoughts on this one. At the moment, I just can't see beyond us losing against whoever we play. The club is in free-fall - just lucky we had amassed enough points by Christmas. The biggest blessings for Toon fans if we lose this one are: > It will keep the Mackems in the crap until the last game > It would heap more pressure on Pardew getting the boot So, many fans seem quite happy with the prospect of defeat. Bizarre! Anyway, good luck with the relegation battle. I'm sure our boys will do their best to keep you in the hunt.
2-0 newcastle cisse sissoko by the way Obi, shocked to hear your fans are turning on pardew - i know he hasn't showered himself in glory with the head butting incident and there's been a poor run of form, but a top half finish is still good going. he's very street wise and i'd have him here any day, on this occasion i don't think changing the manager would do too much, especially as the manager of NUFC doesn't buy players, he has to work with what he's givenâ¦â¦
I think it's the culmination of many things - his inability to adapt his tactics, inability to change a game, inability to motivate players, inability to take any responsibility (his blame/excuse list is world class), talking utter cr@p, misleading fans on the intentions of the club on transfers (or at very least over-promising on the ability to actually complete non-existent deals), playing players who shouldn't even touch the bench - while appearing to 'ruin' some of our best players, the shame and unprofessionalism of the head-but, ... the list goes on... Fans have just had enough. Cisse is one of those players who has been 'Pardewed', so if (as you predict) he does score I'd be very surprised. More likely Remy if anyone in black and white scores. I do agree with you though, Pardew can only do so much while his hands are tied by Mike Ashley. That's another story...
Going with my heart here not my head irrespective of missing out on promotion in this prediction league! City to win 2-1 (Whittingham & Campbell)
Haha don't worry Obi I think the Swans are safe! I think from most of our points of view we've come to accept that we're going down regardless of the result on Saturday. We certainly deserve too, the result against the Mackems was the latest collapse against teams that we need to be competing with (Palace, Hull, Spammers) and we havn't been able to enjoy this season despite the 10 year pursuit of it for well publicized reasons. Don't know what to make of Newcastle at the moment. You are in the top half, so it can't be that bad. Admittedly, there are off the field problems (and have been for a while) in a similar way to us. I would like the win on Sat, if just so we stand a chance of not finishing bottom
