With City now moving in the right direction (at least in theory), can they break their torrid streak without a win? More than a month on from the victory over Fulham and nearly three months on since our last victory on the road (a flukey victory over Watford) can City outscore the Terriers? No easy task as Cardiff could easily slip back into their form of late and stumble to another draw.... In the league, the Blackburn result allowed Ninian Opinion to continue his good run of form with another CS, further securing the 2nd automatic promotion slot as well as cutting Whiffletree's lead (once 12 points) to a mere 4 points. 3 points also for Swamp who moves to within 2 points of the top of Div 1 and points for Irish and Bluescull.
I shall plump for a 1-1 with Whittingham getting a penalty!!!! Previous forecasts have been rather ambitious so I am reining myself back for the sake of league position!
Mr Sheep, Please would you ignore my predictions for the Wigan & Wolves game posted in the Blackburn thread. My predictions for the next 3 games are now: Huddersfield 1 City 2 -Whttingham Wigan 1 City 0 - Morrison City 1 Wolves 0 - Jones Thanks
I will go for a resounding 1 - 0 win to CCFC please with Jones scoring. Thank you. Time for me to get out of the relegation zone, its about that time of year for me !!
In reference to your previous question Sparks Yes you do but it's up to you whether you predict a scorer. Like Ninian has done above you can predict a name even if it does not match your scoreline or you can go without a scorer and get a point if City don't score. Hence why a 0-0 CS is worth 4 points as technically you have predicted the scorer right. In next years rule post I will make this clearer as it is a bit of a grey area. Any feedback folks is always appreciated
Right this hasn't worked in my favour for the last 2 games but I'll have another go. For Huddersfield, since November, 17 league games, 6 wins, 3 draws and 8 defeats. 21 points to drag them up the table. Of the wins 4 at home but lost the last 2 to Leeds and Wolves. Also lost at home to Brum in December. Of the defeats, 5 away but won 2 of their last 3 away at Wigan and Millwall. Plus they got a creditable 0 - 0 draw at Bournemouth last Saturday. All together that doesn't give me a clue. Better signs from us on Tuesday but Blackburn while having a real goal threat in Rudy and King weren't that good in midfield and didn't get many shots on target - but neither did we. If our improvement can be maintained we have a chance but if we slip back then another defeat is on the cards against a much more recently consistent side than us. A draw for me it is then, 1 - 1 again. Doyle to notch his first for us. He scored against Huddersfield last time he played against them. Hope he continues that trend.
Nah Bluey - all too technical for me......... Trollope will put some more things right and City will go up there on the front foot - Kenwyne will get the better of Hudson. Hudds 1 - 3 City with Kenwyne getting at least one.
I will be delighted if you're right Sparks and that might even encourage me to go for a win at Wigan!!!!
Feeling in a positive mood since Trollope has joined, and it already appears to have made a difference, (unless that was just a fluke!) So I'll go with Huddersfield 0 - 2 Cardiff, Doyle to score.
A 1 nil away victory for me. Jones to get the winner - may be asking a bit much for a clean sheet though!
