We've definitely missed him, over the past 2 years dare I say. Hasn't been the same player since that Barca game in '09, doubt he'll be the same again :(

Drogs--OK , players who are out for the sort of injury he had, and for the length of time he was out, often dont appear as the player they once were! But he's 28 , going on 29, and was such class , that once he's match fit, he's going to be a very important addition to our squad, particularly if we're still involved in all 4 competitions!

Oh definitely! With Meireles and Ramires in the squad now I hope we play him in my most favoured role for him - the holder. He's like Mikel but a lot more agile, faster and with more of a playmaking attribute. Look forward to seeing Essien under AVB <ok>

or he is ready to get injured again for Ghana duty..

Essien is our version of Van Persie or Verminator..

I'd be ok with selling him, as long as it's not to another English club or a CL rival.

    ...and a decent price.

Look !!! Essien was top draw before he got injured! As far as I'm concerned he will be a positive addition to our squad in the New Year! Thank you and Goodnight!!!

I'm with you bluemoon, give the lad a chance before writing him off! I'm certain he'll be like having a new signing.

He was one of our and the worlds best players up untill the 1st knee injury, soon as he came back he looked fragile and a shadow of his former self, then he got the 2nd one, i can't see him coming back like the essien of old, i think were give him to the end of the season and fingers crossed we get the old essien back but with these long term injuries and age catching up with him i just can't see it happening
