    This is what did it for me, a Lotus 49 with bloody great Cosworth V8, coupled to Hewland gearbox and differential, the entire thing a fuly stressed composite design, a work of art guys.

    If you get the chance get yourself to an historic F1 event, visit the pit and be lucky and find one of these and just look at it, be sure and wait until it gets fired up, magic.

    A later version airborne at the old Nurenburg driven by Rindt, look at the spectators just standing behind a single rail, that car is touching nearly 180 mph at that point.

    I've never got over that first experience of being at a GP, you know that moment when the noise and the ambiance take over your senses and you hair stands on end and you look at your mate and say **** and nothing else in the entire world matters.
