Well some here were saying last week that the lack of chances is the reason he's scored all of 2 goals this season.

I am still reminded by his failure to convert gilt edged chances at Blackpool and especially Millwall. He had if we dare to recall, decent chances v Brentford and v Fulham. He fluffed them all. In fact they were embarrassing almost sunday morning parks standard. The chip when clean through on Saturday was for me the final straw.

He is not clinical enough. He takes 2,3 touches when 1 will do. He tries to be too elaborate, and seems always to be in 2 minds.

Yes he runs around a lot, and gives it his all but that is just not good enough. Revell for me looks a better bet, and once Mason is fit, he should be back in. I'd have Healey back as well before Le Fondre.

I would hope Slade can see that City need a sharp and clinical centre forward. If anyone saw the 3 scrappy goals tapped in by Donaldson for B'ham on Saturday, I would wager a lot that Le Fondre would have missed the lot.

If Slade is not going to replace him, then City should play 4-5-1 with Jones or Revell up top alone. if he does stick though to 4-4-2 then Revell should partner Jones.

Oh and finally I was left appalled by his theatrics on Saturday when fouled in the 1st half. He went down like he had been shot, and when he saw the colour of the card wasn't red, he was up like a spring lamb and galloping off to the penalty area. That was unsavoury and poor gamesmanship.

I'd drop him. Stating the obvious but this sport is all about goals, he doesn't score them. The worst problem, as one of our 2 upfront, many of our best chances fall to him. If he was scoring 1 from 3 good chances his other play would make up for it, his current 1 in 10 (at best) conversion rate cannot be tolerated.

Slade switched to a 4-2-3-1 during the 2nd half. I think it's a much better answer for us, Revel will be the 1 and we have loads of players who suit the 3 behind role. Alf can then be used in the only way he's every been effective as an impact sub.

See my comments on the Transfer Window Thread about Revell. I said there that we could play with Jones and Revell up top, the danger being we might end up playing nothing but long ball. Perhaps that fits with Slade's vision?

As for ALF, he has a track record of scoring goals (agreed, a lot from the bench). However, he is now in the sort of depression from which strikers suffer when the goals dry up. Confidence goes and they take 2 or 3 touches when one would have done previously. I actually think he will do better with Revell than KWJ as Revell has similar mobility and appeared to be able find his team members with his headers down and flick ons. KWJ is not very good at that. ALF has the ability to pull defenders out of position and with Revell being considerably quicker and more mobile than KWJ he may be able to take more advantage than KWJ has done.

Pity the next 2 games are so tough. We not find out how it will work for a little while yet.

Id switch to 451 right now.

If we are to play 2 strikers then Mason when fit has to come in.
