So the 49ers spoke to The Daily Mail at said that they were going to be a clear out and rebuild in the summer but who are going to have left.

This is the squad as it stands

    GK: Meslier, Darlow, Klaesson

DF: Roberts, Cooper, Cresswell, Rodon, Strujk, Byram, Firpo

MF: Kamara, Gray, Ampadeu, Gruev, Dallas

    Wng: Summerville, Gnonto, James, Anthony

    AMF: Piroe, Rutter

    ST: Bamford, Joseph, Joffy

    Plus Shackleton

Who will they get rid of?
    who stays?
    how many will be left?

It really depends on what division we’re in. If we don’t go up then Rodon, Gnonto, Summerville will definitely want out, possibly Meslier as well. I doubt we’ll see Dallas play again. Cresswell doesn’t seem to have a future whilst Farke remains here. Cooper will be gone as well, probably Shackleton.

I think you can add Joffy on to that list.

Personally I'd sell Bamford and make Jospeh first choice striker then get him an experienced Back Up who's younger than Barn Door

Off with Shackleton joffy creswell for a start. They’ve had ample chances and failed to make it. The rest all depend on where we are plying our trade

I'd add Klaesson to that list. He's slipped down the pecking order

A predicted PL squad is too hard. Too many changes.

If we remain in the Championship I'd prolly go with....

    --------------- Meslier
    New--- Ampadu - Struijk ---New
    ------------Gruev - Gray
    James ----- Piroe ----- New
    ------------ Joseph

    Subs.
    Klaesson
    Cresswell
    Kamara
Bate (he's going superbly at MK Dons)
    Bamford

That would mean everybody else either sold or released.

Summerville, Gnonto, Rutter should bring in close to £100 million to seriously strengthen the squad and keep within FFP. It would be nice to get a playmaker instead of Piroe and a striker to start too.

Actually, I think Piroe will be gone whether we go up or not. I think Farke has come to the conclusion that he isn’t the type of player he thought he was buying. It’s just such a pity that the international break ****ed us up so much.

I think we need 5 new additions, that's without losing any of the starting 11, depending what division we're in, will determine the quality of the signings. Go up and they'll be a big clear out I would think, stay in the Championship and a few a more likely to stay.

I was happy when we got Piroe but in hindsight I think we should have got Gyokeres

I think he’s a good player for the championship as his goal record shows, he just seems to struggle with our style of play, which is odd as Swansea played a passing, possession based game.

As I assess the situation out of the 25 we've got currently

Rodon, Roberts and Anthony loans will; end... 3
Shacks, Cooper and Dallas out of contract ...3
Joffy and Klaesson will be sold... 2
Firpo and Strujk are wanted by other clubs... 2
    and Byram.... 1

That's possibly 11 spaces to fill to get back to 25

and if we do get up we don't have to register Gray.

We're looking at a possible 12 or 13 spots to fill over the summer

We wont have to register Gnonto or Joseph either, as any player born after 1st January 2003 will be classed as an Under 21 player for next season, unless of course the F.A. change the rules.

In addition on the basis that Ampadu, Meslier, Struijk, James, Summerville remain, then we either need to keep 2 of our present squad that qualify as home grown players, or else purchase another 2 that qualify as home grown, to have a fully registered 25 man squad.

We don’t seem to have much coming through the academy. Only Joseph, now that Archie is considered a full member of the first team, that I can think of.

On that note I can't remember the ;last time a decent crop of players cam through an academy system since 99 and we had Woodgate, McPhail, Jones and Smith

Delph is the last one of real quality I can think of, some might include Byram.

No decent players coming through the academy?

Are we talking home grown? Like Charlie Taylor, Kalvin Phillips, Jack Clarke, Lewis Cook, Charlie Cresswell, Jamie Shackleton and Archie Gray? (£70 million already earnt by sales)

Are we including players bought for the 21's like Meslier, Struijk, Summerville, Gnonto, Joseph, Greenwood, Gelhardt, Bate? (Probably £90 million worth of talent).

Suppose we shouldn't forget the small but accumulative fees and add-ons for the likes of Halme, Liam Kitchen to name a couple. Then there is the fee for the kid poached by Man City.

Academy is doing well considering Cellino pretty much ****ed the youth set up off.

I didn't mean ours per say.

I meant in general and I was talking about gluts of players coming through like our class of 99 or the scum class of 92 when you get multiple players coming up in one year.

yes there are players coming through academies like Rashford (Scum) Gordan (Everton) but it's now the norm to raid the lower clubs to get players.

So yes Emu we have great players coming through but on the other hand there has not been a glut of young players coming out of top Academies (Citeh, Scum. Chelsea, Arsenal)

I was initially talking about players that might break into the first team next season when we have this turnaround of the squad.

Keep an eye on Charlie Crew breaking through. First time I saw him play, I thought it was Archie! Think he's the u21s skipper, but might be wrong on that one. Apparently Archie's wee brother is a cracker due to break through soon too.
