No disagreement that City is currently the best team in the premiership. Best team in the world? May be Bayern, Barcelona, Madrid might have a thing or two to say about that. But in the premiership, how does this team compare with previous awesome premiership title winning sides of Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea or even Blackburn? The best ever? Which previous sides come close?
Blackburn awesome? Brilliant. I will maintain till death that United's best ever premier league winning side was 1994, and so therefore that is the best ever premier league side. No contest.
On a two legged contest i.e the CL Q/F or semi-final I will probably put my money on the 99 treble side but not much... It is just astonishing that they could so far in front of the prem sides in terms of power yet only a point ahead.
arsenal 03/4 United 93/4 and Chelsea 05/6. Didn't united piss the league 99/00 or 00/1 too? Also 08/9 pretty dominant despite 4-1 to dippers
I think our 98-99 team, and our 07-08 team are the 2 best sides the Premier League has ever produced. City would have to win the Champions League this season as well as the league to be mentioned in the same class as those 2 sides. Arsenals invincibles side was very good, but they flopped against Europes elite
Yes, so that was three in a row so it could be argued that was the dominant side, even though it evolved during that period. Same as the '08 one, that ultimately won three in a row but with various squad changes. As a single side, judged on a season, I think United best are '94, '99 and '08. Chelsea '06 and Arsenal '04 very good too as you mention.
City and invincibles. 2 best man for man sides in the PL era. City have a new coach and new players, if they maintain some consistency with players and manager, with what they have now can easily be the best PL side ever. No other side in the PL has ever dominated the other top sides like City have this season. United's 94 team going to the Etihad today would get ripped new arseholes
Yes a very good side. Deserves more credit for winning the title. But not done well outside the premiership and not even the top points record... In terms of power, and on a two legged contest I would put the city side above it...just
They also went out in the 2nd round group stage of the Champions League that season. Man Utds sides in 98-99 and 07-08 remain the only 2 sides to win the Premier League and Champions League in the same season. When another side does that they can be ranked alongside those 2 great sides

Well most of the United 94 team are in there 50's now so they should. Wait till Barcelona beat them easily in March then come back.
That 93/4 united side had everything. Maybe Better than this current City side. Re 98/9, could you not argue that the side the following season was better as a exclusively title winning side?? 99/00 you dominated the league whereas 98/9 was a close run thing (plus the other trophies obviously) Also, Carlo's centurions 09/10 were an underrated outfit
