Ok, so we all love being Saints fans most of the time but what period in your time as a Saints fan have you been loving it the most?

(sorry about the Le Tissier typo and about the poll question - got cut off midway and can't get back to it to edit it - should read the same as the thread title)

It has to be the 2 years when Keegan was with us. Winning and entertaining football - a bit like now really.

Think we played better football for the 2 or 3 years after Keegan. We finished runners up in 83/84.

In my mind those are the "glory years" and coupled with the innocence of youth and growing up to be with mates and the lads on away trips etc.

Right now though, bloody great, especially after hitting rock bottom 2-3 years ago.

Having only got into football in the last few years (never saw the point before... oh the naivety of youth) I really have to go with right now.

Poll is a bit flawed as lots of posters weren't even born in '76!!!!.

obviously its right now for me as i wasnt around in the 'glory days'

its strange but although we were in the prem for all those years we feel happier and have a much better feeling now.

personally the journey we have been on as a club from rock bottom to where we are now and beyond has not only given the club fresh impetus but made us all the more passionate and will push us higher than we have been since before the 03 cup final

Couldn't begin to decide. However, as SH-qwerty says, I feel so good right now it's almost embarrassing.

And talking of QWERTY - you apologised for the Le Tissier typo, and I see you've subsequently edited your post anyhow, so why not just go back again and correct the typo..?

Great as all those other eras were, and I lived through all of them, NOTHING beats right now.

Unfortunately, I'm not old enough to have witnessed '76 or the early 80s so my vote goes for right now.

I've printed off the league table and have it propped up against my computer to get me through the rest of the week of work <laugh>

I voted the Le Tissier years but that is closely followed by the eighties :) Now is good too of course. but I only started getting into football in the early eighties so was a bit young really to enjoy it and understand it fully.

Really enjoyed the Le Tissier years when others would say Le Tissier was an awesome player only to call him fat, slow, lazy, unambitious when their team hadn't snared him.

Also enjoyed the 'supporting acts' around that time of Rodney Wallace, Shearer, Ostenstad, Claus etc :)

It has always been great to support the Saints even through the bad times but it is especially wonderful at the moment. From my very first match at the Dell I have always loved this great club.

I haven't participated in the poll as for me the time I found the most exhilarating was the late sixties and early seventies mostly because of the great centre forward we had at that time and a young lad who seemed to spend a lot of his time on his backside.

PS I note that hotbovril has suggested that the quill is a writing instrument with which I am familiar. I have to correct him for when I learned to write it was on a slate and I kid you not. I do however insist upon writing with a fountain pen as I find those biro thingummy jigs ruin my handwriting.
