Have to agree with Aber on this Diego Maradona was an outstanding footballer probably the greatest player. My favourite player though was Johann Cruyff watching that dutch team from the 74 world cup was amazing !!!!

David williams (dias), aberystwyth town. Genius all round sportsman. Great striker (stand named after him), top seam bowler, amazing teacher and person. Would have been a wales pro intrnational but teaching was his thing. Still miss him.

Greatest player of all time is very difficult to choose as football evolves different things come in to play. Since I have been watching footy I guess Pele still stands head and shoulders above all others. The main reason is he had to deal a lot more tackles that these days would have people up for GBH! After Pele I'd plump for Maradonna as he was quality but I think Messi is matching if not surpassing him now.
