    Hi,

I've recently purchased a season ticket for Bristol Rugby next year and with the purchase I get a free ticket to a regular season Bristol City game of my choice.

Just wondering if any Bristol City fans could advise me on which fixture I should choose?

Who are City's main division rivals?

    Will really appreciate any advice/answers!

    Thanks

Bristol City vs Yeovil will be a good one. As will Bristol City vs Swindon. Suppose its up to you really, we could be at home on New years day or Boxing day, so could have something to do on those days if you have nothing planned. If (big if) we have a good season and a promotion is on the cards then that game could be the one to go for.

If I were to chose this far in advance though it would be City vs Yeovil. The return of Gary Johnson, a west country derby and should be a great atmosphere.

Why? He's a rugby fan taking the opportunity of a free pass to a game of his choice, and asking a question.
Apart from Gloucester or Bath what game would you go to if they promoted, and who would you go to if they didn't get promoted?

Back to the OP, I always enjoy Swindon but I would say Yeovile would be the better one. If I was in your position I would wait until Christmas see where we are in the league as to which one would be best.

Don't forget Sheffield United and whoever don't make it from the playoffs. Rotherham played well against us.

And I would expect Doncaster to be in the mix because they will not have to shed loads of overpaid players. As for Yeovil, depends if GJ is still with them.
Whichever game you choose billyht, I hope you enjoy it and come back for more.

I have bought season tickets for City and Bris. The latter at over 65 rate in the Atyeo was a measly £135. Good value if Bris negotiate the play offs.

Hey, pick the right game and we may have another Red in the making.. I'm gonna catch a few Bristol Rugby games next year and I looking forward to it...

Both clubs might see some benefit from this, there is natural rugby type in Clifton Southville etc, lets hope we both pick up a few new fans..

The best game will be our league derby with Bristol Rovers, no wait a minute that won't be next season. We could draw them in the JPT if you could get to a midweek game, ah wait a minute, no not that either, outside chance of getting them in the Capital 1 cup, no hang on, won't be that either. In that case probably the local derby against Swindle.

The one that takes us back to the championship would be the best.

Sheff utd for me, i believe it will be between us two challenging for top spot<ok>

Now for the honest answer, wait for the first month to elapse and see how things are progressing.

I would plump for Sheff United.

I reckon I'll see how the season pans out. If there is a game towards the end of the campaign that would to take City back to The Championship I'll go for that. If not, I'll just go for a game against Sheffield Utd, Yeovil or Swindon.

I'm at Bristol University next year, so would be nice to have a local football team to follow alongside a (hopefully) Premiership rugby side.

Thanks a lot everyone - really helpful responses!
