James Chester features, amongst others in this list >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> A little over a year ago, I joined three other writers in penning a review of the best 25 players in the Championship, as voted for by fans on Twitter and across forums. This original articles are archived here. http://thetwounfortunates.com/tag/25-best-players-in-the-championship-as-voted-for-by-you/ This week I've been reviewing those 25 names, along with some help from two of my original co-writers and some fans of other clubs, checking out their progress and judging whether they've proven themselves worthy of the tag they were given for the original post. The review is broken into five parts to make for easier reading; all the parts are linked at the bottom of the final article too, if it makes it easier to switch between them. Are you doing a Top-25 for this year.? Just running quickly down last years list some of those named would be hard put to be included this year. Not sure Chester has been our best player although very consistent.
Regarding your summary of King and Schmeichel, as a Leicester fan. King has improved as a defensive player so, so much in the past year. This might have tarnished his great goalscoring records but he has stopped his old game of just wandering about the pitch for 90 minutes. While he might not have the goals to show it, he's definitely improved as a player under Nigel Pearson's second reign. Schmeichel, according to you isn't 'immune from the odd clanger'. While he's not perfect, I can only think of one offf the top of my head that has been entirely his fault in the two years he's been here (Burnley away last season). He might not be perfect at punching crosses and can have the odd game where he can't kick to save his life, but I think he's as 'immune' to a clanger as any other goalkeeper is at this level. When you add his shot stopping and the organisation of his defenders into the mix you have the best goalkeeper at this level, no doubt.
Fascinating stuff, any chance of a run down of your full squad? I'm sure I speak for us all when I say we don't get enough input from the likes of yourself on Leicester City.
