I don't want this thread to turn into a "your a ****", "he's a ****" thread. Mods, if it starts to head that way please delete posts or the thread altogether if you feel the need. I'm at a loss to understand how changing the name will be of any benefit what-so-ever. I'm looking at those who are behind the Allam's proposal to change the name to enlighten me as to what the benefits will be to the club, the supporters, The Premier League, football in general, the local area & the local economy. A few questions you may be able to answer to help me understand your stance. Maybe I'm just missing the obvious. What will the benefits to be? How much additional income do you expect the name change alone to generate? Will the benefits be solely financial? How will the benefits be achieved? How long until the perceived benefits come into fruition? Why has no other club, in a similar position to ours, taken this step, if the benefits are so obvious? Do you agree with Assem's notion that the shorter the name the more successful you can become? Do you believe "Hull Tigers" is shorter than "Hull City"? Thank you in advance for your responses which I'm positive will be both substantiating & in depth.
See there has little response to the questions. Reasons being there aren't any. Not even the Allams can answer them.
If I was to play devils advocate, I could seriously answer those questions from the clubs perspective in a way that could possibly present an outline business plan (albeit unsubstantiated and heavily reliant on speculation). However, as I don't want to give them any ammunition to prop up their new application I'll not bother. The short answer is that there's no way to 'prove' any benefit. The club are relying on the strategy of 'let us try and then we'll see if it works'.
It's interesting that these are such good intelligent questions that you would think had been considered (And answered) before applying to change.
Errr No you got me What are the answers? (Actually there will be a financial impact on me personally.......it'll save me a fortune)
Well, my 7 response prediction was wrong... it was 7 responses before someone complained about this thread.
There may be NO substancial benefit to the proposed name change, the point is that no one knows. The upside to the TV money that is getting pumped in, is that AA no longer can use the financing of the club as an excuse. I am neither for nor against the idea.
A non antagonistic question Patty, if you were asked a straightforward Hull City or Hull Tigers question on a season pass renewal form, which way would you vote?
that's the problem with you nay sayers... there's no middle ground. "you're either with us, or you're against us" I'd rather not pick sides, thank you.
I wasn't asking you to pick a side. I just asked, if the pass renewal form specified that an answer must be given to validate the purchase, which would you pick? I'm not going to pounce on any answer, just interested to know which way someone who doesn't mind either way, would vote.
are you asking me if the name on the ticket would stop me? I'm not that shallow. it is the team that I am going to see. The name of them are irrelevant.
see? the naysayers don't like the answer that; I am neither in favour nor against the name change and they have to make their attacks personal.
