The Ben Arfa Daily Transfer Rumours Summer 2012

Chaps,
As you know, there are lots of transfer rumours that will surface in the summer.
To avoid any repeats and keep the board as decluttered as possible I'm suggesting we maybe set up a new sticky thread called.... The Ben Arfa Daily where we can post all links and romours we come across.
I'm just one voice so what do all of you think?
I've set up a poll also to get a feel for whether or not you'd we need something like this or not?
Just an idea chaps and I'm easy either way.

Aye 100%. Silly season is not far away and lets face it, its gonna be in hyperdrive as far as we're concerned. Rather than countless threads on he, she or it, lets just keep them in one place.

 

Don't we already have a rumour thread? Couldn't a nice mod change its name?

 

I reckon the old one may be a bit cluttered with old stuff that isn't relevant anymore plus it will be a bit more difficult to navigate will all the pages.
we'll give it a few days to see what everyone wants to do and then it may be best to start afresh with a new name and a clean slate.
it will also mean you guys won't be deluged with my Sunday morning updates all over the place (hurrah I hear you say!!)

Nah I don't think it's necessary. New thread for every rumour isn't the end of the world. Ones with little substance die down, and those with substance probably deseve their own thread.

Rumours gaining strength?
The Dutch press appears to offer further suggestions that FC Twente’s Douglas is bound for Newcastle United this summer, although perhaps the most pertinent question is whether or not we lose any of our current stars this summer too.
Further to an article I posted last week about Newcastle’s interest in FC Twente’s Douglas Franco Teixeira, the Dutch football magazine ‘Voetbal International’ has said that the 24 year-old central defender is indeed likely to switch to Newcastle this summer.
They suggest that a fee of €5m (£4.12m) has been ‘prepared’, which is about half the figure I mentioned in the previous article (which I got from the ‘Transfermarkt’ site). This makes sense I suppose as he will in fact be out of contract this summer.
According to Voetbal International, Douglas wants to wait until late August to make the switch though. This is because he will then have spent 5 years playing his football in The Netherlands and can become a naturalised Dutchman, thus allowing him to play for The Netherlands’ national team, which is apparently his aim.
