Now that Parkin has returned will he be in contention for a place in squad against Burnley?

I really hope we go for it tomorrow.

That means with injuries Joe Mason up front on his own and a 5 man midfield.

Interesting bench last weekend. Plenty of attacking options, but no cover for fullback. Gerrard on the bench, so what would have happend if we'd lost McNugetts or Taylor, the latter having already had injuries.

With midfielders who can put their laces through the ball (McPhail take note), Parky may be the target man. Not sure about his hold up play though. If we want to play more ball to feet or to run the channels, big Jon is not the man. If he's on the field the opposition know what they'll be getting. We struggled to cope with him, but he is one dimensional. Not sure he'd work as the lone striker unless one of the midfield five was always pushing on.
