Lineker paid ...£2 miilion. Hansen paid...£1.5 million.

What is going on here? Lineker's pay has been reduced to ...£1.5m and Hansen to £1m apparently.

If it was their money, the BBC could have got away with paying Lineker "just" £0.5m and Hansen may be £200K a year. If hansen refused £200K where was he going to go? ITV? SKY? Would it have been a massive loss to the BBC vieweres not having Hansen? would it have reduced our enjoyment or appreciation of MOTD? And Lineker - do we really believe he is worth £1m/year ?

Shows how much of our money is being wasted...

I'm more pissed off that they use Lineker and Michael Vaughan, ex cricketer, for their golf coverage. No wonder they're losing everything to Sky. At least Lineker and Hanson know about football.

Didn't Gabby Logan go to the Euros?

I thought it was a good idea that they didn't fly the whole MOTD team out to Poland/Ukraine which would've saved some money.

Welcome to the world of the BBC and them using public taxpayers money to give ridiculous wages to these presenters.

These people live in a parallel universe. Was there a negotiating team? On what basis was he £1m offered to hansen or the £1.5m to Lineker calculated? Do they think they are Graham Norton who can be a star presenter in his own right? Does anyone tune in to MOTD to hear their wise words? It is like ITV poaching Chiles for millions to find he was an absolute failure on their programmes.

FFS dont these muppets not realise that there is only one programme on terrestrial TV showing highlights of premiership matches (because only the BBC have bought these rights) and the other channel is Sky which has its own presenters.
