In 1962 in Santiago Chile, possably the dirtiest game of football ever, took place in the world cup between Chile and Italy.
Not exactly on topic but watched the last WC final in a hotel bar in Santiago. Very very strange. Whilst the bar was packed and the majority seemed to be big football fans the place was almost silent for the whole game. As we all know the game was full of controversy which would have seen even the most neutral of fans screaming at the screen these guys never uttered a single word. Instead they chose medium of mime to show their annoyance, delight, angst etc. As an example, off side decisions were met with most of the bar jumping to their feet, accusing pointing at the offending player then the linesman, this was followed by a slap of the forehead and a distorting of the face and a huge shrug all without a single sound being uttered. Very surreal, perhaps you had to be there but one of the strangest football experiences I've ever had
imo the wc final last year was a let-down, I didn't think that it was interesting, despite all the fouls.
Their been quite a few dirty games. one of the first after the war was called the battle of Berne in 1954. The Hungarians were kicked all over the place. In 1966 Pele was kicked so much he could not play
maybe the weekend will see the battle of sol, the big african lads getting a grip of suarez and his long haired lover from gateshead NEWCASTLE UNITED TROPHYS ROOM HAS BEEN BROKEN INTO POLICE ARE LOOKING FOR A MAN IN POSSESION OF A BLACK AND WHITE CARPET
