Can you win it? Four way race in my eyes between yourselves, Liverpool, Swansea and Everton. We may get dragged into it if we keep playing crappy too but we look good for 6th in my opinion.

Liverpool - playing rubbish and don't look like achieving much and lurching from one cock up to another
Swansea - the dark horse playing the best football out of the lot but their away record leaves a lot to be desired
Everton - strong finishers to a season so you never know
You - Played badly the other day but still riding a crest of a wave. Arty knows what he is doing and has the experience.

I think you can win it! Surely that would represent an amazing season for you guys and give you something to build on. <ok>

Got to say I know Newcastle are 6th, but I always feel that the current top 5 and Liverpool are capable of putting a really good run together as Arsenal have proved in recent weeks, having climbed from 7th to 3rd without dropping a point. Would still say Liverpool 6th, Newcastle 7th and a free for all after that.

Not a bad year for the north east at all if we both finish top 10 mine, amazing if Boro got promoted too.

I think Swansea and Liverpool will go higher than Sunderland. That's nothing against you guys, it's simply the fact that no matter how well you do, if they keep racking up points then it's a struggle to overtake.

Swansea, I just think they'll keep racking the points up with their great home form and decent away form. I don't think Liverpool will do as well, in fact I think Sunderland will get more points over the remaining games, but there's that 5 point gap which would have to be overtaken.

As for Everton, I don't know. They'll probably stay level with Sunderland right up to the end of the season, and then who is higher than who will be dictated by a point at the most, or even GD alone. I know they play very well towards the end of the season, but you guys are playing well too, so I see no reason for them to be considered better prospects for the next position.

    Swansea decent away from home?

Also, are you psychic saying there will be a maximum of one point between Everton and Sunderland? <laugh>

Swansea have just started pulling it together away from home. Beat Fulham, Wigan, West Brom and Villa away in their last 5 or so away games.

Liverpool will probably stumble to 7th I think then could go either way between SAFC and Everton for 8th and 9th.

Have to agree with the bold statement - what with Liverpool "racking up" 4 from the last 18 points available they're racking them up massively!!<doh>

Haway chappaz man - "Racking up points" and "Swansea decent away from home" - Swansea's own fans were heard singing recently "You must be ****e, we're winning away" - OK so it's picked up recently against some poorer opposition (Wigan etc) but it's still not great!

I think it'll be us in either 8th or 9th unless we go out of the cup in which case I think we may win the 7th place run with Liverpool and verton still involved (BTW - by that token, I hope we finish 8th or 9th as I'd rather win the FA cup and finish 9th than get knocked out next week and finish 7th!)

    Can you read?

So <doh> right back at ya. My point is that irrespective of what Liverpool may get in the up coming games (and I think they'll do better in the final push) there's still a 5 point gap to turn over which could make all the difference. That's two extra wins than them in the last 8 games to go ahead by a single point. So if they win two out of their last eight, you've got to win 4 out of your last eight. If they win 3 or 4, you've got to win 5 or 6 out of 8.

They've got 12 points out of a possible 18 in their last 6 away games, so yes, it can be that good.

You've only got 4 points out of the last possible 15.

Everton: 8 points out of the last possible 15
Liverpool: 3 points out of the last possible 15
Swansea: 9 points out of the last possible 15

You might well get 7th, don't get me wrong, but don't discount any of the opposition for that spot, because they've been getting roughly as many points as you guys lately, if not a fair few more.

Yes - indeed I can - the statement "Keep racking Up Points" implies that they are already racking up points - which they are not ERGO you have no reason to ask the above question - the word Keep means it is already happening (I.e. I can keep on walking means I am already walking)

I corrected my post about Swansea as I didn't realise how well they had done recently but they were singing "You must be ****e, we're winning away" which also implies that their away form was not great - we'll see as they have a few more difficult games coming up.

Why is that even relevant the amount of points we have to the statement of mine you pasted above - I said IF we go out of the cup - those 4 from 15 have been during our cup run - oi.e. IF we go out of the cup I can see us getting 7th - if not then I think 8th or 9th - I may be misunderstanding something here chappaz but you don't seem to be reading the full statements - only the bits you want to disagree with

Chappaz I'm really not writing anyone off around us but the cup has interrupted our season (in a very good way IMO) and you could see this the other night against Blackburn - many looked jaded - I would be happy with anywhere in the top half and a cup win - anything above 9th for me would be a bonus - also shows improvement year on year
