As some people have said that they will not be in tonight to listen to the Q & A broadcast, I have put this thread up so that people can find one easy place to find out if we are told anything new. If you are within reach of 3CR they are broadcasting from 7pm, but it will also be available via their website or the Hornet Player.

If anyone hears something that they think to be significant just add it to the thread. I guess that if he says very little it will be a very short one. ;)

I have submitted a question to the program that he should be able to answer, but it might not get put of course.

"Can Mr Bassini please explain in some detail how he believes that he can make a financial success of Watford when so many others have tried and failed? Just what plans does he have to increase income apart from selling players, and can we be assured that player sales in January are not required just to keep the club afloat?"

An excellent question M Frenchie :). I wonder if they still have your old list of questions too. I will be here as long as possible tonight, but will be off at 8pm..though i don't see him lasting that long!

    Never guess what..

    Bassini has pulled OUT again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Illness has been sighted for the reason once more.

Maybe there is still an issue for him but he managed to walk around the pitch on Saturday ok.

Appeared pale yes but still very disappointing.

    :(

Just read this after posting. Poor man, perhaps they can do the phone in from his hospital bed.....I am assuming he is in hospital if he is still that unwell after 2 weeks!!!!!

He must be aware just how much of a joke he's become.

Can we request a sick note, signed off by a qualified General Practitioner?

Failing that, I am happy to stand in for LazBaz, and answer any questions that concerned fans may have.

I am beginning to notice a recurring pattern. The pitch, delayed, the PA system, delayed, the SW corner, delayed, speaking to the fans delayed.

Luke Ashmead on 3CR has just said that they found out from the official website that he wouldn't turn up.

Fundamental questions about the club have been sent in by e-mail, 30-40 so far, and then there would have been texts and phone calls. He was treading very carefully about what he was saying and was very frustrated.

If they have these email questions, can he not answer them at his leisure in writing to the wobbly or the official website?
No need to wait till the new year.
If he is seriously ill (and I hope he isn't) I hope he is insured?

"Bassini sells WFC due to Ill Health" could be the next headline.

He could pass it on to someone without ever giving an interview.

Just a thought as he had offers of £10m and £15m.

I only know what I read on this forum so I could be wrong, but my sense is that Bassini is completely out of his depth with a football club. I suspect that he was seduced by the 'glamour' of owning a club but has found that the reality is very different. I once had a job at which I was hopeless (computer programming) and got out as soon as I realised that I was not going to get any better. What we have to hope is that Bassini can make a graceful exit before too much damage is done. The problem is, I would guess, is that Bassini's psyche is run on ego, and that will have to be massaged to prevent damage in an ownership transfer.

In a way I feel sorry for him. It is not nice to be in a position of not being able to cope. We will just have to hope that he is big enough to accept that he has made a wrong decision, or that he can be tactfully manouvered into another business.

Euromillions anyone, or does anyone know of a multi millionaire Watford FC supporter who is willing to spend some money on keeping us afloat and be able to pay off all existing debts and maybe buy a couple of players to enable us to 'a' Stay in this League 'b' Progress and push for the Play-Offs? 'c' Finish off the ground improvements. Not necessarily in that order and I am sure there are plenty of other things we need and would like.

Please feel free to add to the list;)

bafooni strikes again. Seriously, all he needs to do is answer some questions. If he doesn't want to talk to fans, he could write them down, as Chris suggested.

Putting my Sherlock Holmes hat on for one minute I have noticed someting of a trend.

The Brothers Russo and Watford FC
    Silvio Berlusconi and Italy
    Lawrence Bassini and Watford FC

All three groups do appear to have problems one way or another with money and there is something about the family names as well. Could Watford ask someone who would be good at money, but likes a little risk, to help?
