Hats off to the Blackpool fans - heroes one and all. They must have been delighted to see that scumbag Oyston forced to sell the club yesterday, although what happens in the future is still highly uncertain with this mystery Latvian banker apparently owed £22m by Oyston. Another triumph for the governance of the EFL Go fvck yourself, Shaun Harvey & Co. This is a must win game, given our recent downturn in form. 5. Charlton. P.32 55pts 8. Blackpool. P.31 47pts So a defeat on Saturday will see our Play Off cushion reduced to only 5 points, and with the Tangerines having a game in hand. There are 2 certainties about Saturday 1. We will look far more potent up front, with talisman Lyle Taylor back in the attack. 2. Football for a Fiver will see 1,573 plastic fans return - prompting Seriously Supine to claim that "the crowds are flocking back to support JackBow" Let's see where we are at 5pm on Saturday (in SR's case, with his head still up his arse...)
I assume we will see Taylor link up with our marquee signing from Gillingham. That's a partnership we really need to hit the ground running.
I hope Taylor can hold on to his temper from now on. Every team of bruisers is going to try to wind him up, and one more straight red card will mean a four match ban. Right now LT is 2 yellow cards away from a two match suspension like the one Bielik is now serving. We've only got 14 left to play in the regular season.
Predictions for the real attendance tomorrow ? We had 21,000 under Powell for the fiver fixture. I reckon 12,000 tomorrow, max. 8,000 genuine & 4,000 plastics.
Charlton Athletic's February form in the last three seasons; Aside from a 1-2 away win over MK Dons just under a year ago Charlton have fared very poorly in February, taking only 9 points from a possible 42 to date. Tomorrow against Blackpool would be a very good time to buck that trend.
4-4-2 today, please ! My line up- Phillips Solly Purrington Sarr Bauer Pratley Reeves Cullen Williams Parker Taylor
I DO NOT want to see poxy 4-5-1 today, with 6 midgets poncing around like munchkins in the Wizard of Oz. Let Pratley anchor the midfield and get the rest of them forward supporting Taylor. No more tika-taka crappa. I do not want to see any of Fosu, Marshall, Igor or Hackett-Fairchild playing today.
Duchatelet’s joint worst legacy - along with the damage he has wreaked on the infrastructure of the club, will be the way his pernicious behaviour has resulted in lifelong Charlton fans breaking the habit of going to Charlton. We will see that again today with the attendance.
Can Mr van Gerwen and our IT Whizzkid @lardiman take pics of the stands on kick-off. I'm more reliant on Mr Lardiman as the darts player only has a Nokia.
@ForestHillBilly can confirm that I have an iphone, as I was showing him some photos only yesterday on it
