Monday the fixtures so we will have real games to look forward to and real days to plan. 2 weeks time the window opens and maybe, just maybe the gossip will become fact and new players will arrive and old ones depart. Before you know it we will be dusting of the match day gear and making our way to meet up with the same faces sitting in the same seats with the same hopes and dreams ahead. The Euros are OK and have certainly helped us to get through this god awful premier league desert. Old Arry getting the push helped cheer us all up and England actually winning a game gives us all a belief that miracles can happen. But nothing can compare to proper football with your team in action, they excite us and in the main drive us to distraction, drink, drugs and near insanity but still we carve for more, Within a short time we will be saying that's it, same old Sunderland, I have had enough, they don't deserve the shirt, pre-ejaculation Bill will be saying it when they get off the bus, sorry Bill. Then by the Wednesday at the latest that thrill will return, well maybe I will give them one more chance and we will start guessing team selection and results for the weekend. Argus and his predictions will return with son or sons of Argus running it and the naughty step will once again be the home of many. This season is a different season, IMO, our expectations are higher but our dreams are more realistic, a quiet confidence rather than a brashness of years gone by. A season of change is ahead, Swansea, Norwich, Villa, WBA and Liverpool have new managers. Us, QPR and Chelsea have near new managers, Spurs will have a new manager and we will have 3 new teams to play. It could well be Fergies last year and if Moyes leaves Everton it could well be a bad year for them. I think we can assume Man City will do well but after that its hard to say who will end where, I feel an exciting year ahead. Soon be August.
for me the euros are just a distraction. i dont feel anywhere near as passionate about england as i do about sunderland. i will watch it because its on and hope england do well but dont expect too much. as for the new season i am really looking ofrward to seiing what mon can do with a full season in charge. when the euros finish hopefully there will be some new faces come in early to give them time to bed in before the season kicks off. i am really positive about the new season and feel we can have hign hopes, and in mon i feel we have a leader who can meet and exceed those hopes. with the new fixtures coming out on monday we will have a good idea of whats coming up and hopefully we can start with an easy home game to hit the ground running. it seems like ages since i was at the sol for the man utd game and the summer will drag on till kick off but hopefully we will have a few domestic based pre season matches i can get too and start gearing up for the new season
i hate the close season. now im getting a bit older im not out clubbing or partying every weekend i look forward to the match to unwind and relieve some stress. plus its gets you through the work week having saturday to look forward too. at the minute instead of wee philly, naked totty, a load of drinks and hopefully 3 points to look forward too i have mowing the lawn and watching the euros. i usually do a bit of fishing in the summer but havent had the chance as my fishing mate is away for the summer
i still go just not every thursday, friday and saturday every week like i used to. those were the days
it happens to us all kidda. hopefully when i get to that age they will have found the fountain of youth
Good the fixtures are due. All these random names linked, most of who few of us have ever heard of is doing my head in.
