Bought to you by Coronavirus, for all your pandemic needs. And it's (almost) lights out and go go go for the 2020 F1 season.
It's up to us to hype it. Feel free to chip in. Here we are, just days away from what promises to be the most exciting Formula 1 season since records began. Let's look at the drivers and the teams that are about to make this the most incredible sporting event the world has ever seen... Lewis Hamilton Red hot favourite Lewis Hamilton is determined to equal the record set by Michael Schumacher, and cement his place in history. Talking about his rivals he's said "The last few years have been a bit boring, but that's not my fault. I wish they'd get their act together so I can beat them properly and show that I'm the best ever. They can whinge about me having the best car on the grid, but I don't care. Suck it, losers!" Lewis has the car, the momentum and has the world at his feet. He's the best thing ever! Charles Leclerc Hot red favourite Charles Leclerc is determined to show that he's the man Ferrari should build their team around. About his rivals, he said "Hamilton has done well in recent years, but what is he? Like 90 years old? My biggest threat is being t-boned by Max or Seb. I had to put up with team politics last year, but everybody knows I'm the best driver this year. As long as my team doesn't stitch me up, just watch me go head-to-head with Hamilton and show him up when he finally has to deal with someone who's faster than him." Charles has the boy band looks, the talent and has the world at his feet. He's also the best thing ever! Max Verstappen Hot headed favourite Max Verstappen is determined to show everyone that he's matured to become Hamilton's heir apparent at the pinnacle of the sport. About his rivals, he said "I'm better than Hamilton. I'm better than Leclerc. I won't event talk about Vettel because he's not fit to clean my shoes. I'm better than all of them and the sooner they realise that, the better."Max has the raw speed, the hunger and the ruthless instinct of a born racer. He's also the best thing ever!
Perhaps Liberty will organise pre race chest beating, eye staring weigh ins along with pre race threats like 'I'm gonna drive you off the road and flick my dirt in your face as I drive off into the distance''. (I have avoided comment I may regret in the event of a nasty crash).
It would be so great for Williams to get a point. I hope we get some competition at the front, if not just show the mid field battle as I think that will be interesting.
I hope Ferrari are better than they look, so we can have the big three all at the front. Imagine a three way championship. I'm looking forward to seeing if McLaren can take another big step forward. They were definitely last year's feel good team. I also hope Renault are a big pile of do-dos and that Ferrari bin Vettel off and sign Ricciardo, although I might be getting a bit ahead of myself there.
We know Ferrari will be going head-to-head against Mercedes. We're just not sure which colour Mercedes.
I'm pretty confident in saying Honda will have made the biggest gains and RBR will benefit a lot from that, bt whether it's going to be enough to topple Mercedes, hmm. surprised no one has opted for Bottas yet.
What if nobody wins because the race is called off from a case of the sniffles? Which tick box is that one? :/
